Other than everything else wrong with this ad. Why is there an assumption that only HE can do the job? Why are ads only for Men? Especially those whose experience of Marine ecology is zilch! This is a deliberately confrontational route being taken through #PIDA. #SaveOurIslands Image
Why are #PresidentialOrdinances being issued. Why are there Assemblies. What is the urgency in 'developing' these islands, bulldozing the wishes of the inhabitants. Why is the @SindhGovt1 not responding to concerns, reservations & protests of civil society. #SaveOurIslands
The fragile coast has already been vandalized by commercial greed. ENOUGH! We are a #ClimateChange vulnerable country. @WWFPak & #IUCN Pakistan had already expressed reservations in the past when #Bundal island 'development' was planned. Why are they being ignored #SaveOurIslands

Hallelujah! Local NGOs allowed to help flood-hit families! After decimating the development sector & civil society organizations through a witch hunt, reregistration, EAD quagmire, suddenly when faced with the calamity they realize their importance! dawn.com/news/1704798
These organizations lost their donor connections, donors turned away from Pakistan, rather than jump through the bureaucratic hoops, & now the organizations with the human resource, capacity, experience of working in such disasters have no resources. Are now working in isolation
In 2010, there was district govt. which held DCC where all actors were present; local politicians, military focal persons, line dept. reps. INGOs, NGOs, CSOs, even LSOs & shared locations & interventions to avoid duplication. @UNOCHA was the overarching umbrella to coordinate

In 2018 a workshop was held by @IUCN to develop a management plan for #Astola. Since then..ZILCH! It is 2022. Status in limbo. Is it to be 'low take' or 'no take'? If former, which level of 'take' or activity is permitted. If latter, what alternatives for beneficiaries @dpr_gob ?

'Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow' @SyedaShehlaRaza @bayramgul_unfpa
It allowed me to point out some important work at policy level to mainstream #Gender issues, like #ccGap document by #IUCN Pakistan & @MoCC with @theGCF readiness support to work in tandem with National #ClimateChangePolicy by highlighting interventions in 6 priority sectors
Progress was narrated by #WDD rep. on #genderfriendly new laws, & amend. in existing laws is heartening. Look forward to their wide implementation. Also about measures about safety of women & safe houses like DarulAman @SyedaShehlaRaza @UNFPAPakistan @bayramgul_unfpa @SCSWPK
