Yarrawonga to Oaklands NSW railway.
Railway open to Yarrawonga 1886. 1922 Border Railways Act line was extended another 61 km to Oaklands, completed 1932. Oaklands was then a break of gauge station with the standard gauge NSWGR.
Yarrawonga was on the south bank of the Murray River. A wooden bridge was built to cross the river. Construction of Yarrawonga weir began early in 1935 and was completed in 1939.

The wooden bridge was replaced by an earthen embankment in 1975, and the last remaining section of wooden railway bridge was replaced by concrete and steel in 1989.

During WW II additional sidings for Victorian broad gauge and NSW standard gauge were provided, to serve Australian defence installations located at Oaklands.

Shire of Swan Hill tramway (railway) 5' 3" gauge from Kerang to Koondrook on the Murray River. 14 miles in length with intermediate stations at Yeoburn, Hinksons, Teal Point and Gannawarra. Opened 1889, transferred to VR in 1952. vrhistory.com/VRMaps/Vic1920…
Koondrook’s name is thought to be derived from an Aboriginal word meaning moon.
Teal Point was added in 1952 when VR took over.

Railway reached Echuca in 1864. 1876 the Deniliquin and Moama Railway Company opened its 71 km (44 mile) private railway to Deniliquin. This connected with the VR network at Echuca by a temporary bridge, later replaced. vrhistory.com/VRMaps/Vic1930…
1 Dec 1923 under the terms of the 1922 Border Railways Act the private railway was taken over by NSW Govt for transfer to VR.
