Was a 2-2-2T acquired by VR in 1860, sold in 1889.
Not dated but probably c. 1880.
This is No 34, which was the same as No. 36 originally named Oberon. No 34 ran on the Koondrook tramway for a while. Probably hauled the first trains on the tramway.

RM 44 constructed by the South Australian Brill company in the late 1920's. Only Brill RM VR had. Was written off after this derailment.

Last of class scrapped 1921. This loco appears to have been rebuilt.

Last passenger service from Echuca along the Toolamba–Echuca line ran on 2 Mar 1981. Goods movements on the line were intermittent. Booked out of service a number of times. Re-opened 2013.
NSWGR initially had a separate platform at Tocumwal. In 1941, the NSWGR moved from the previous separate platform to the opposite side of the VR platform. Tocumwal was transferred to NSWGR from VR in 1941/42.
From the north. The lines to the right are the broad gauge line from Victoria. Used for container transfer and picking up grain from silos. The area to the left housed the standard gauge yard.

Koondrook’s name is thought to be derived from an Aboriginal word meaning moon.
Teal Point was added in 1952 when VR took over.

Yarrawonga to Oaklands NSW railway.
Railway open to Yarrawonga 1886. 1922 Border Railways Act line was extended another 61 km to Oaklands, completed 1932. Oaklands was then a break of gauge station with the standard gauge NSWGR.
Yarrawonga was on the south bank of the Murray River. A wooden bridge was built to cross the river. Construction of Yarrawonga weir began early in 1935 and was completed in 1939.

The wooden bridge was replaced by an earthen embankment in 1975, and the last remaining section of wooden railway bridge was replaced by concrete and steel in 1989.

Railway reached Echuca in 1864. 1876 the Deniliquin and Moama Railway Company opened its 71 km (44 mile) private railway to Deniliquin. This connected with the VR network at Echuca by a temporary bridge, later replaced. vrhistory.com/VRMaps/Vic1930…
1 Dec 1923 under the terms of the 1922 Border Railways Act the private railway was taken over by NSW Govt for transfer to VR.
