Delhi Court directs jail authorities to provide adequate security to Umar Khalid during his judicial custody in a Delhi riots case.

The case pertains to FIR registered at PS Khajuri Khas.


Delhi Court also allows Khalid to carry his spectacles, books as per Jail Rules.

Video conference meeting with lawyer aslo permitted as per Jail Rules.


A similar order was passed by Additional Sessions Judge while remanding Umar Khalid to judicial custody till October 22 in the Delhi riots case concerning the commission of offences under UAPA.

Supreme Court grants time to journalist, Tarun Tejpal, accused in a sexual assault case, to file his reply on a plea seeking extention of time for completion of trial against him.

Tejpal's reply will also oppose complainant's plea for recording of her cross exam via video conferencing.

Supreme Court had in 2019 directed for the trial to be completed expeditiously.

Karnataka HC will today pass order, at 3:45 pm in a batch of pleas related to winding up of six Franklin Templeton Mutual Fund Debt Schemes.

Chief Justice Abhay S Oka and Justice Ashok S Kinagi will pass the order.


The petitions challenging the winding up of debt schemes were transferred from the Delhi High Court, the Gujarat High Court, and the Madras High Court.

The Court had began hearing the submissions of parties from August 12 and closed the hearing on September 24.

#SupremeCourt today will hear matter concerning waiver of interest on interest on term loans for the period of moratorium.

The petitions before the Court had challenged the interest component of the @RBI circular on #LoanMoratorium.
Centre, in its affidavit before the #SupremeCourt, has said that the compounded interest will be waived off for the "most vulnerable class of borrowers" for loans up to the amount of Rs 2 crore.
