That Trump/Meadows haven't initiated any kind of contract tracing/isolation regime for the big outbreak the WH/President has caused months into the pandemic is a terrible reminder of just how inept, reckless and dangerous this team has been.

They've just allowed people to die.
In NJ the RNC is not fully cooperating w/state health officials, making it harder to contact trace and contain the virus.

The state is also investigating what appear to be clear serious COVID restriction violations by Trump and the RNC. (Thread).

Over the weekend MN officials also reported that no one from the Administration had reached out to contact trace the President's very extensive trip there last Wednesday.

From this and other accounts it appears the WH is not working w/DC/MD/VA at all on contact tracing, or even encouraging positives to report into any kind of central authority. This of course can turn an outbreak into something devastating for the region.

Media needs to really focus on the current failure of WH/HHS/US govt to take responsibility for endangering the lives of so many people, withholding critical information, maybe even exposing the VP.

It's an immense scandal, one unfolding in front of us.

The President/his team have become a major spreader of COVID. And even after getting the virus, the President has continually exposed people around him, on purpose, even forcing staff into the room with him unmasked.

WTF is happening? How can this be?
Remember - POTUS may have been infected, contagious as early as Fri Sept 25th.

Because of his travel, mass events, disregard for COVID protocols Trump may be responsible for an outbreak of staggering size that NO OTHER person/entity could have caused.
The WH could have acted, and contained the virus when they learned about it Wed or earlier last week. But they didn't act, and this virus has taken off.

Mark Meadows should resign for this failure, today. It's an historic governing failure.

Look at this - how can this be? The recklessness, lack of concern for others - this is why Trump cannot be trusted for another term. He is a danger to the Republic.

Every report like this of secondary and tertiary infections raise the possibility that we are looking at a truly serious public health event in the DC region - brought to you by a reckless POTUS and his team.
Great question....WH staff must be terrified right now.

Confirmation there is no regional process in place, led by the WH, to contain the outbreak their recklessness has caused.
It's one thing to hold back infection information from the public; it's another to hold it back from regional public health authorities.

Not going to retweet the video but the President has COVID and should be isolating for at least 14 days.

WTF he is doing? He’s already caused all sorts of people to be infected. Why he is endangering his staff, others near him?

We are deep into Mad King territory here.
So is the headline in all the papers tomorrow going to be:

“President recklessly leaves isolation, endangers dozens around him at hospital”

What other sick COVID patient in a hospital anywhere can just go take walks around, go visit people?

How crazy is this?

The more you look at the timeline the more likely it appears the President was positive and capable of spreading COVID at Tues night's debate.

Whether he knew and went anyway is a big question. But certainly would help explain his crazy performance.

I've produced a possible alternative timeline below.

If the President was spreading the virus last Friday and Saturday, then it's almost certain he would have tested positive before the debate.

If the President was infectious starting last Friday, the number of people he could have infected is enormous, and we could be in the early stages of a major regional and national outbreak.

So we are learning that just like the President knew how serious COVID would be, did nothing and let the virus spread uncontrollably, we may be in the midst of a similar DC/national outbreak now that he knew about, kept quiet, allowed to spread and it is taking off.
The DC govt, @MayorBowser needs to holding a press conference today, now, explaining what the plan is to contain the spread of what could be a massive outbreak.

We are seeing 2nd order vectors - Indiana, Ohio, the campaign/RNC, US Senate - this thing has already spread.

Over the past 48 hrs 8 people at the Coney Barrett event have tested positive for COVID.

WH is clearly responsible for a growing COVID outbreak. How are they doing contact tracing? Who's in charge? Are they working w/DC, state health agencies?

We need answers, this am, from the WH abt how they're working to mitigate this dangerous COVID outbreak.

Not only was there no masking/social distancing but MANY people who attended violated DC quarantine requirements, incl Coney Barrett and her family. washington.org/dc-information…
Serious questions now about Coney Barrett's judgement.

She/her family violated DC quarantine requirements; she allowed her children to attend crowded events maskless; she's also refusing to quarantine despite coming into contact w/MULTIPLE positives.

In the last 36 hrs 7 people at the Coney Barrett announcement last Sat have tested positive - the Trumps, Hope Hicks, Senators Lee and Tillis, the President of Notre Dame, an unnamed journalist.

Names of everyone there, and their status, needs to be made public immediately.
I think whether the White House really contact traces the Coney Barrett event last Sat is a political acid test for Trump and his team.

Are they really doing it? Who is in charge? Are they working directly w/the DC govt, other states impacted?

On COVID Coney Barrett is recklessly ignoring CDC, DC protocols, laws.

By law she needed to quarantine when she arrived in DC for 14 days.

She went maskless at WH.

She's been in direct contact w/4 COVID positive people - CDC says 14 days even w/negative test.
As a DC resident I want @MayorBowser to be more aggressive about making the WH/GOP follow DC quarantine protocols for their out of town guests like the Coney Barrett family and others who came in for her ceremony on Saturday.

The city of Washington, DC may be experiencing a significant COVID outbreak, one which increasingly looks it could have come from a White House event last Saturday.
