I'll be streamlining this a bit: a comprehensive update on Saturdays and a briefer update on all other days for ON & QC.

All updates for the week of October 10-16 will be posted below.

Canada - Covid-19 still presents a risk primarily to the elderly, not to children and hardly to working-age adults.

(n.b. Based on 2020 YTD data for Covid-19 - figures to be revised upward as needed.) Image
Deaths among those over 80 account for 71.4% of deaths by/with covid-19.

This contrasts to overall deaths, for which the 80+ cohort accounts for 50.9% of deaths (based on 2016-2018 averages).

@fordnation @celliottability:

Ontario's peak for ICU beds for covid-19 was April 9, when 264 beds were occupied.

However, on that date only 66% of critical care capacity was being used (covid or non-covid), while 691 beds sat empty.

Even in the BEST CASE scenario put forward by the Ontario government on April 3, the province would have had over 1,200 people in the ICU by April 18.

The reality was 22% as bad as the BEST CASE scenario put forward at the time.

Knowing that ON's death count is inaccurate and that it was a bad flu year largely concentrated in LTC homes, we must resist another lockdown.

Lockdown 2 would be nearly tantamount to treason, knowing that this is a low fatality outbreak and that lockdowns do indeed KILL people.
This video coincidentally came out out 2 hours earlier.

How did he know?

Call your MPP.
