Everything About Admission and Scholarship in Sweden (Part B)

While we are still saying #EndSWAT #EndSARS and #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigeria, I want to conclude the Scholarship in Sweden as the application window opens soon.

Part A is here:

Let's get started:

1. For Tuition scholarship or school-specific scholarship, kindly open this link: studyinsweden.se/scholarships/
2. From the link above, you can either choose all Universities from the left or click any from the right to see the scholarship available as shown below: Image
3. If you clicked at Chalmers University, you will see this:

Take note of everything I underlined, and click the links there to fully understand. It's obvious that 75% tuition scholarship is available. Scroll down to see 100% scholarships. You can apply for any of this. Image
4. You can also click 'How to apply for scholarships' as shown below:

Application for 2021/2022 will open soon. Image
5. Repeat the above steps for different schools so as to increase your chances. But be sure the school has your course.

TIPS: i. You don't need to write an email to any Professor.

ii. You can apply to as many as 4 schools.

iii. Many schools prefer that they are the first
choice before they can allow you to apply for a tuition scholarship. So, you must be very technical about your choice(s).

iv. Don't apply to competitive schools to have higher chances.

v. You don't need any English test result if your degree is taught in English.
vi. They rank according to performance, then gender. Females generally have more advantage (take note).

vii. Your SOP must be superb.

viii. After your masters, you will have a social security number with which you can apply for jobs. You have up to a year to look for job after
schooling.

ix. Visa process is generally easy. Once you have a letter of funding, you are good to go.

x. Once you have a work visa after Masters, education is free for your kids.

N.B: All the tips are gotten directly from my friend who is finishing his masters in Sweden.
Don't ask me for his contact because he wants to remain anonymous🤣🤣. You can do your research to confirm too.

This concludes the Swedish scholarship.

Also, check this website:learn.scholars.africa

It explains how to get a scholarship in Sweden with 5 free lessons.
Up Next:

1. Scholarships in Germany
2. Scholarships in Italy.

Scholarships in Sweden are basically divided into 2:

A Reminder on Scholarship Application

Many of you have sent dms to me asking for scholarship info. Let me make some general statements about Scholarship Applications.

1. When you see people post success stories about scholarship and admissions, know that they have been through
many failures. One success is just enough to cancel I million failures. So, it's important that you ask them about their journey, more importantly about their failures.

2. Don't expect that you must be successful in every scholarship applications. O
Personally, my failures in this scholarship journey are more than the successes. Scholarship is not meant for the most intelligent. It is for the resilient, dogged and smart. So, be prepared to fail. That is the simple truth.

HND and 2 2 Graduates Seeking Scholarship Abroad.

If you know any graduate from Polytechnic or anyone with a 2 2, kindly send this tweet to them while you get a very chilled bottled water and unwind this thread🧵:
Basically, there are many ways to get a scholarship:

1. Top Up Degree in Nigeria or Abroad: This program is useful for people in the following category:

a. HND holders with lower credit or pass (all concerned universities accepting lower grades).
b. Graduates (BSc/HND) who want to change to another related or different course.

c. Graduates of polytechnics are not trained to be teachers. They can use this program to change to an education line.

Demystifying Reference Letters

Reference letters and Statement of Purpose (SOP) are the two most important part of the Application processes.

Even if you have the best result in the world, if these two documents are not well written, your chances may be slim.
I explained SOP in my previous tweet, kindly see it.

Today, we will demystify reference letters.

You will be required to upload 2-3 reference letters written by people who know about your academic life.

The link can also be sent to them to upload with a specific deadline.
Now, the issue is, how do you get the best reference from a lecturer you are not even familiar with?

Some of us even don't tell our referees before using their emails.

Here are some tips:

This is not to discourage anyone.

But doing a PhD just because you love to teach, and expecting a teaching job after PhD is setting oneself for disappointment.
In my opinion, you should do PhD in a country that can offer opportunities far better than the teaching job you desire.

Also, learn to personally develop yourself and connect to people. @adexmee
has said this many times. You should follow her.
Connections will help you develop other skills that may be useful after your PhD.

Make sure you look beyond the PhD rigour as you continue the journey.

Let the degree be a means to an end, not the end itself.

Follow @cjcornthwaite, his tweets will open your mind.

How to save cost in Graduate School Application.

If you have been actively following me for the last few months, you must have comfortably sent many emails to many prospective supervisors using the ideas in my several tweets.

Now, this is the time to be smart so as not to waste
a lot of money in paying for Application fee.

We all know that most schools will ask you to pay for Application fee ranging from $60-$120, and you may be confused about which school to apply to, having sent various emails and received various replies.
The kind of replies you get will determine exactly which school to apply to.

These are some ideas:

1. Check the Application page of the school to be sure if they waive application fee or not. If it's not clear, please send email to the Graduate co-ordinator.
