I have to comment on this #HerdImmunity horror; though I am not medically educated, I have literally spent hours interviewing a major virologist on #COVID19. It will kill many, many people, and it is demonstrably unworkable. It should infuriate any thinking person. --brief thread

Doubtless the Trump apologists are already saying the Swedes have tried it, but the Swedes have social buy-in from decades of wealth distribution and actual democracy. And it failed in Sweden, and would have been a disaster if not for that buy-in

reliably infect everyone around them. This virus has as a component of its function a superspreading viral load mechanism which has the capacity to overload humans to the point that they will literally drop dead as the pathogen forms clots in the heart and lungs

--something that was seen in Tehran and Wuhan and will now be seen in American cities. The economy, already staggering, will be decimated within a month or so. And at some level the Republican administration knows this. They will stay safe in their hospital
