It’s insane to think about how hard it was to do basic things.
For example: a drop shadow.
Back then (2007), it required slicing up a PNG and adding it as a BG.
Today, this is a single slider in @webflow. Thank you @callmevlad.

While it’s easy to glorify these Wild West days, I personally think there is no better time than today.
The pro for us, was that the internet was tiny. Everyone in design knew each other.
The con was it was tiny. Fewer clients, less money, less value to design, worse tools.

Today, I am blown away by how insane tools like @figmadesign and @webflow make design.
In my day, you had to either fully learn JavaScript and CSS or you had to sacrifice your beloved design by handing it off to some color blind engineer to chop it up and ruin it.
