(COVID+ only)
Today: 352 (+ 23 since yesterday)
Last week: 268

(Y'all... this is a big deal... that 1 week jump is statistically significant)

POSITIVITY
(*we are now officially above 5% in the 7 day)

Today: 5.02%

(three day is 5.13% -- and has actually gone down a little bit)

CASES

(another 1,000 cases in the books...so we got that)

And, yes, I know... imperfect metric (because testing is so high right now)...

but we are going into new territory here.

And brief crest appears to have been a blip.

So let's talk.

Yes. This isn't making me feel great either.

But...

I do not believe lockdowns are inevitable. In fact, I think they remain the last thing anyone wants to do.

If this slowed tomorrow...we would be fine...

But... if this doesn't slow...

if this doesn't slow...

more and more restrictive conversations will be discussed.

and restaurants and small businesses DO NOT want to see those options become reality.

You don't want to see them either. Trust me.

it's gut check time folks.

which direction are we going to go?

People have asked me... what am I doing?

Right now, I'm planning for what could happen. I'm not freaking out. But I am concerned.

Next week will be BIG.

Let's see where the trend goes.

And hope for the best

Today: 317 (up 27 from yesterday)
Last week: 244

(this is not great news folks. BIG ...increase today... relatively speaking)

Again... (and I can't stress this enough)

it's not where we are now that's the most concerning... 317 patients is VERY manageable

But look at the trend... it continues to go up.

this is making people who will make decisions on restrictions nervous...

whether u like it or not

POSITIVITY

(Again... look at the trend in the red line... not skyrocketing... but still going up)

Today: 4.47 (*7 day average)

(3 day average is 5.33%)

(is rate of growth slowing? At least for one day? Yes)

Ideally, this would be the start of a turn to slower increase...

but you know what I say about one-day's-worth of data... it's not terribly insightful

but, at least for now, we can hope.

Headline: "With hospitalizations continuing to rise, positivity goes above 4%"

HOSPITALIZATIONS:
(COVID+ ONLY)

Today: 288
Last week: 233

For the first time since first week of August, the 7-day average is above 4%

(remember, 5% is really the line we really don't want to cross)

CASES

We're now over 700 (7 day)
(that's the most since the start)

(*We are testing a lot more too... so that explains some of it)

In the meantime, let's talk about the drug. CO hospitals have, for weeks, been using supplies given to them by US govt

Basically, in a fairly large study, the drug shortened recovery time for #COVID19 by four days.

Colorado hospitals started receiving the drug in relatively large numbers back in May

In June, the state reported more distribution.

Here's what the hospitals got:
