When they try to Pick Trump as a target, they can't help but to include his base (deplorables as an example), When they try to freeze him, they are freezing his base as well (bunch of racists, xenophobes etc), when they personalize it, they are making it personal to his
...base which drives up their support for him. When they try to polarize him, they are turning off 65+ million people because they can't separate him from his base.
