Shailaputri Day 1

Navaratri begins with a night of worship and celebration in honor of Maa Shailaputri. Shailaputri means "daughter of the mountains." Her other names are Sati, Bhavani, Parvati, or Hemavati. She is the daughter of Hemavana, Image

Maa Shailaputri is considered to be the purest embodiment of Durga and the mother of nature. She rides a bull, has a half moon on her forehead and holds a trident and a lotus blossom. The lotus represents purity and devotion, while the prongs Image

Worship with flower, bhog & colour:

Colour: Grey - Represents removal of heaviness, dullness & negativities.
Bhog offered: Pure Ghee or something made of Ghee / clarified butter.

1. 57.44% of the students who took up NEET from Tamilnadu have qualified. This is slightly above the National pass percentage (56.44%)

2. Tamilnadu ranks 12th among 37 states (as mentioned by NTA) in terms of pass percentage.
3.States like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal etc are behind Tamilnadu in terms of pass percentage.

The last of the living artists of comic book CHANDAMAMA, Shri KC SIVASANKAR, breathed his last yesterday on 29th September 2020, in Chennai.
He was 97.
He was responsible for the illustration of the famous Vikram and Betaal characters besides illustrating
hundreds of stories of this iconic comic book that was first published in Telegu in 1947 .It was started by B.Nagi Reddy and Chakrapani, noted Telungu Film makers. It was edited by Kodavatiganti Kutumba Rao, a much respected and loved literary figure in Telungu Literature.
It was a brilliant collaboration between film makers,writers & graphic artists.
Shankar Sir used mixed various styles in his line drawing illustrations to finally come up with a form that so many of us fell in love with. Very cinematic & so much mood.Chandamama was colorful.
