Many things about this Barr letter

1. It says Berman must vacate today
2. It retreats from bizarre appointment of the NJ US attorney to lead both DNJ & SDNY

3. Bizarrely suggests as a point in Barr’s favor that there was going to be an amicable swap between heads of SEC and SDNY. On no planet does that make sense given their respective qualifications.

Sorry for the passive voice; I think Congress should seek an explanation.

More specifically, Congress can seek an explanation from the Civil Division AAG, Jody Hunt, and ask a number of other questions about the census case also.

Not gonna lie. I’m a little tired of Twitter.

I’m less and less impressed by all the hot takes and less and less inclined to offer them.

Many debates and discussions just can’t happen here & I’ve abandoned them. I prefer to have them elsewhere like on podcasts that allow for fullness.

Paul Manafort cooperation is agreement is hugely significant, yes.

Mueller likely already has all of Manafort’s information. You get the information before you offer the agreement.

Given how late in the game Mueller was prepared to bargain, more people will almost certainly be charged based on Manafort info.
