“We want SARS to End!” #EndSARS #ReformPoliceNG SARS has ended! STS & IRT shutdown across Nigeria & restricted to Abuja. Cases against them are being looked into & data on the complaints since 2015 to 2019 will be released shortly. The issue here has factual & historical reality. 
The demands by our fellow citizens, triggered by the culture of impunity are legitimate. Suffice to say that there is a Just Cause. But before we delve into this, the Advocacy believes the leaderless Protest need to get better understanding of the extent of dialogue for context.
NOTHING can be achieved without Legal framework & proper appropriation, so this informs the need for national orientation on monitoring of the implementation of these laws. NHRC 2010 (in need of a governing council), ACJA 2015, Anti Torture Act 2017, Police Act 2020 & PTF 2018.
I read this document as circulated and I must say there are too many gaps in understanding of the work done in the past 3years. The conversation has gone beyond this and it is not as simplistic as portrayed in the document here. The issues were mischaracterized.
The problem is deeper than criminal mal-administration of Nigeria at all levels. It is about institutional gaps leading to years of dereliction. You need to know how things work to proffer solutions lest we suggest amiss. Nigeria Police is as much a victim as the citizenry.
Institutional Vandalism and emasculation of leadership, militarization of policing for regime security as against national security, delay of legislation towards reforms, paucity of funds, misunderstanding of the philosophy of community & intelligence led policing etc
This hostage situation must come to an abrupt end now. Ask leaders like; Yinka Odumakin, Goke Coker, Opeyemi Bamidele etc during the protest against FELA’s incarceration and austerity measures (ESSENCO) in May, 1985. It wasn’t funny same President.
Ready to help. I forgive you all and ready to help. The longer things escalated the more difficult it becomes. Fractures within your lines are imminent as things get dragged further. Understand the nature of power, what it does and how it works. You can do this. 🙏🏽
