As Uhuru Kenyatta will be mentioning names of both colonial & post-colonial era heroes & heroines, one name that we are sure he must mention is that of his late father Johnston Kamau or Jomo Kenyatta. He will say his father was a true hero who agigated for the freedom of his people
But he won't remind you that in August of 1952 at Kirigiti stadium in Kiambu his father was among the "leaders" or the "moderates" who had gathered there to condemn the activities of the MauMau fighters. They branded MauMau fighters as "Atoi" (Kikuyu word for terrorists")
In the picture below, from L-R::: James Gichuru,Harry Thuku, chief Mbiu koinange,Eliud Mathu, jomo kenyatta, chief waruhiu wa kungu and chief Josiah njonjo at kirigiti stadium.
It was the assassination of chief waruhiu wa kungu in Oct of 1952 that precipitated the governors decision to declare the state of emergency. Chief kungu was one of the respected chiefs by the colonialist.
Second picture is that of propaganda or "fear selling" campaign that was employed by the above mentioned to scare people from joining maumau liberation movement in the forest.
Happy MASHUJAA day to the sons and daughters of the true liberators.

Where did they take you?We all know who took you,But because of the donations, the govt has no guts to ask a question.I wonder how they kept you wherever they left you.

Did they take out the bullet from the bones of your leg? Did they dress your wound? & wipe the blood you bled?
Did they remove the handcuffs in your hands?or they added another at your neck?
Did you hear from your loyal close friends that were left?
How they were treated with neglect?
From their own friends that inherited the powers office???

INTRODUCTION

Wagalla town is located in wajir which is in Northern Kenya. Northern Kenya is what was formerly known as the Northern Frontier District (NFP).

At first the colonialists called northern Kenya their protectorate then later a colony.
Much later it became a buffer zone between Kenya and somalia. It was during this time that it was given the operative term "Northern frontier district". Later in the years, legislations were passed by the Parliament to control and isolate NFD further.

JOMO KENYATTA SPEECH ON LAND ISSUES ON 1ST JUNE 1966 DIRECTED TO OGINGA ODINGA INDIRECTLY.

"Let me also issue a word of warning to those who might be tempted to carry the law in their own hands and try to take white settled land by force.
My govt will not tolerate such attempts by the malcontents among us who do not want to buy the land. I have already promised that this will not happen and those with such plans will be disappointed. Money will give land to everybody.
The market at its forces will distribute the land to us, including the poor without exception. Anything else smacks of a bloody communist conspiracy of violent land redistribution which my govt will not countenance."

The pictures seen below represent the story of betrayal of the maumau fighters. One is a poster that celebrates the killing of fighters (selling fear) Note the title "Atoi" kikuyu word for terrorists,a name that stuck courtesy of anti-mau mau campaign led by chief Waruhiu & Jomo
The other one is a supposed letter by kîmathi to a priest friend on the eve of his execution in 1957

In one of the many letters written by Marshall kîmathi,he is seen warning his brother colonel Wambararia that there were men who were planning to kill him,Kimathi & 2 others.
Kîmathi in the letter asked his brother and the other men to mobilize all forces and be ready for a bloody confrontation with the traitors.

He would later be captured while walking into the forest an event that would be followed by twists and lies.

THE HANDSHAKE THAT NEVER WAS...

Did you know apart from the golden handshake between Raila Odinga & Mwai kibaki in 2008 & the March 9th 2019 handshake between Raila Odinga & Uhuru Kenyatta, there was another attempted handshake of 1978 that failed? Why did it fail?

After Kenya gained self rule in 1964, nobody imagined of a bitter divorce between the founding fathers of the nation Mzee jomo Kenyatta and his old friend jaramogi Oginga Odinga. The bitter fallout was caused by several factors that were precipitated by external forces.
Publicly it was known that Jomo and Oginga differed sharply on ideological differences in the line of capitalism and communism respectively. But apart from this there were deep propaganda information fed to Jomo.
