This is what Amir Khusro said over Malik Kafur's Warangal expedition. One shouldn't have any problem with this paragraph. But, there is a problem. Where is this Anamkanda Hill?
This is not what is equated to the hill from which Hanumakonda got it's name(Padmakshi Gutta) simply because the hill contains a 2000 year old temple and there are at least three main Kakatiya Temples in that area -
Padmakshi Temple on the hill itself, Siddheswara Temple and Bhadrakali Temple. Now, with their penchant for destruction of Hindu temples, one would be surprised that none of three temples are desecrated. Why?
The sort of destruction you would see at Rudreshwara Temple, what is famously known as Thousand Pillar Temple of Warangal(the second image is the main Nandi of the temple, a real architectural masterpiece), you wouldn't see even a part of it on these three temples.
There are only three possibilities -
1. The Muslims were lying over Anamkanda Hill
2. Whatever they called Anamkanda Hill is not Padmakshi Gutta and it's a different hill(how many hills does Warangal have, even?)
3. These three were not temples major enough to be targeted.
Now, there is another problem. If these aren't major temples, Kohinoor isn't the eye of Goddess Bhadrakali but is picked from a different temple. It is well known locally that the temple is famous even for human sacrifices till around 1948 when a priest ritualistically
modified the idol from Bhadrakali to Balatripurasundari. Did they equate the Goddess with Bhadrakali simply because there is no other major temple left standing in Warangal(except the hill temple of Goddess Padmakshi)?
Make no mistake, human sacrifice isn't that fringe either. The Velama rulers are known to have done Bhairavopasana in the battlefield after the battle is over and they are in control of the battle field.
Even, local legends say Rudradeva, who constructed the famed Thousand Pillar Temple was offered as human sacrifice by Jaitrapala after he was captured in the battle/his body was offered in sacrifice.
The ultimate question still lies. Where is this Anamkanda Hill these Muslims talk about? Such sort of questions come when a general history clashes with local history. Let me present you another example.
Sabar is where Malik Kafur crossed into Kakatiya kingdom. He killed the governor of Sabar and appointed his brother in his place. A mass jauhar happened there(without knowing what the Muslims will do, why did the women go for a jauhar?) and Kafur marched on Warangal.
Some historians speculated that Sabar is Sirpur. But, guess what? Sirpur was the capital of Gond Rajas of Chanda and it was under the control of Yadavas. Besides, there is no change in ruler between 1295 and 1325. Unless you know the history of Sirpur, how will you know all this?
And how many will know about Gond Rajas of Chanda, a tribal vassal kingdom about which no one heard anything till Raghuji Bhonsle invaded and annexed the kingdom? Other words, Amir Khusro or anyone, you shouldn't treat them as benchmarks - only as references to dig further.

If a kingdom crashes from the peak of it's power to non-existence, do we ever think of their heroes? There are very few kingdoms whose heroes are known but nothing is known after the collapse of the kingdom. Take Kakatiyas for example.
Prataparudra's career was victory after victory with a few reversals. What happened to all those great commanders? He defeated the Yadavas, Pandyas, Hoysalas, Kampili and even the Delhi Sultanate. But then the kingdom fell crashing down, what happened to those people?
Let me name some of them.
Induluri Annayadeva, Kolani Gannaya(Tripurantakam), Adidamu Mallu(Nellore), Gona Vitthala(Raichur) - Tripurantakam Campaign 1289-1294

India vs the World. While we diss everything Indian, the world laps up everything Indian, however improbable it is.
Another one. Iran says Ayurveda is 5000 years old, India says Ayurveda is a quackery.
And this one. I came across this story of Gestapo picking an Indian Vedic scholar Viswanatha Sastry from Rajahmundry area to use his knowledge of Indian scriptures to make weapons many times, whatever the truth in it.

Was going through Burton Stein's Vijayanagara from Cambridge History of India. My rating? 3/10. Any opinions on his writeup?
I saw two major flaws in his writing.
1. His derision of anything Indian, this despite the fact that Krishna Raya's Vijayanagara is
the second largest city in the contemporary world and Vijayanagara "gifted" the mighty Portuguese Goa.
2. The kings of Vijayanagara didn't have any control on the kingdom except for the immediate vicinity of capital city. They survived on token vassalage and share in collections.
A few snippets.
Ekachatradhipatya mocked by saying a part of Karnataka is not the whole world. Care to check the title of the King of Portugal in 1500 or may be, the Treaty of Tordesillas? Image

Uff...this Anumakonda Kaifiyat is throwing many surprises. Just look at the number of temples in Warangal.
Mahadeva had leprosy
and his elder brother Rudradeva was destined to kill his father.

To search for something, I opened Nilakantha Sastri's Further Sources of Vijayanagara History and I came across a few good poems. Let me post a few over Krishna Raya.

Just look at the comments. Same like India. Hatred for Trump is drowning the whole discussion - can Facebook or Twitter censor American Government? People have already thrown that question away.
And if this is really that email, both Twitter and Facebook made a mess of themselves. Just look at the English. Chaireman and such spellings. Obviously fake.
So, allowing leaked(not exactly leaked, but stolen and photoshopped) Rafale documents is fine?
