In Indian logic, formulating anything by the negative is done only in the rarest cases. A negative proof (proof by contradiction) is similarly employed very rarely.

It’s philosophically irresponsible to call oneself “atheist” when a positive(constructive) definition is possible.
Here is my earlier thread on various Hindu philosophical viewpoints, each defined by a positive constructive definition, which can all be considered “atheistic” based on what we mean by “atheism”.
People following Greco-Roman religions used the word “Atheist” to denote Christians.

Christians used the word “pagan” (villager, country bumpkin) to denote the ancient religions, essentially calling them “non-rationalist” (unintelligent). That’s the history of “rationality”.
From a Christian (or Islamic) point of view, the ultimate realization of “rationality” is the identification of the Primal Cause as God (or Allah). This argument is presented very cogently 200 years ago by James Ballantyne, while he tried to dismiss Sāmkhya as irrational.
It will be fun if Dawkins probes whether the rationalism of Akthar is of the evolution kind (Sāmkhya) or the old-school Christian kind. That will be some 🐒 🦧 🦍 business.

BTW, Monier-Williams called Hindus “Darwinian before Darwin existed”. He meant that in a derogatory sense.

The Gond tribals worship Komaram Bheem as a deity (“pen” in Gond language). This type of depiction is arguably a case of religious blasphemy, punishable by Indian law (shouldn’t be, but that’s another issue).

It is as offensive as depicting Prophet Mohammed as a Shiva devotee.
I have a feeling nobody would even bother to appeal to the Indian courts that such a depiction hurts religious beliefs. The Gonds are poor tribals, who were severely exploited by the British colonial state. What justice can they expect from the colonial institution of judiciary?
I have seen people arguing that Gond people are “Ādivāsis” (aborigines) and not connected to “Brahmanical Hinduism”. This is absurdly wrong. Why?

The Gond language is the closest language to Telugu amongst the so called Dravidian languages. Gonds and Telugus are the same people!

Joke of an award. This @Javedakhtarjadu criticized none of the practices of his own religion, but puts on a convenient “Atheist” hat while justifying all the types of special pleading he does for his religion.
Also, “rationalism” is inherently rooted in a Biblical world-view where every phenomenon needs to be justified on the basis of a historical principle of causality. The chain of causality leads to the “Primal Cause” (which a straightforward honest Muslim would call “Allah”).
Richard Dawkins and his fan boys seem to have neither commonsense in how they choose awardees, nor an awareness of how philosophical discussions on “rationality” even occurred in history, as a dialogue between Christians and Muslims seeking to convert each other! See Ramon Llull.

In this thread, I will discuss the amazing power of Sanskrit Samāsas (compound nouns) and why they offer the ideal terminology for discussing complex ideas. All Indian languages borrow Sanskrit Samāsas, but this expressive power needs to be rekindled afresh for the modern world.
The picture that you see above is a "Parse Tree", which shows the conceptual dependencies between the different constituents of a word. The word's meaning is derived from the individual constituents, as well as from the relationship between them, given by the shape of the tree.
There are many types of parse trees, based on various theories of linguistics. The most common representation in European languages like English, which have a relatively fixed word order, is called a phrase structure tree. This is the tree for an example sentence in English.

The disgusting adulteration of the Telugu language was started as a trend by Telugu poets themselves, like Sri Sri. They had no idea how deep into wretched depths the language would sink in just 3-4 decades.

The reason behind is the destruction of university courses in Telugu.
Now it is fair to say that none of the Telugu politicians can actually speak in Telugu, without switching half the sentence into English, or even switching into a full English sentence. Telugu poets, singers, film celebrities .. nobody can speak unadulterated Telugu anymore !
The decay of the Telugu language is extraordinary even within the last one decade. The current chief minister (Jagan Reddy) is educated in an English medium school, and his grip on the language is barely a shadow of his father’s (who also served as chief minister).

On today starts the Pitṛpaksha fortnight, when ancestors are venerated in Hinduism. Food offerings are made to the ancestors, who partake them in the form of birds.

On this day, I want to point out an important duty that we have towards our ancestors, which is often forgotten.
First, I want to make an argument why one needs to care for one's ancestors, even if one may not believe in afterlife. The reason is that our ancestors are a living part of our own consciousness: in the language we speak, in the food we eat, in our cultural habits and so on.
It is not just our immediate ancestors within the family that we are indebted to. Indeed, we are indebted to several generations of ancestors, who have contributed to our culture, to our knowledge, and to our standard of living. Our ancestors made this world habitable for us. 🙏
