Today I am absolutely delighted to be able to share with you news from IPSO. They have ruled 100% in my favour, by upholding a complaint I made against the Jewish Chronicle for publishing a series of inaccurate statements & misrepresentations about me during the general election.

This is good news for me. This is also good news for all those Green Party candidates and politicians who want to continue to speak up for the rights of Palestinians against their daily oppression by the state of Israel.

This is also great news for all those lifelong anti-racists that continue to speak truth to power, who will fight every known form of racist prejudice and ignorance under the sun - including antisemitism and Islamophobia.

And that's the irony.

Yes, this is a wake-up call and warning - to those who think they can get away with subverting disciplinary processes in political parties or organisations. To those who think they can get away with subduing truth. But no, you will not prevail. You will lose.

Because truth will shine a beacon upon your corruption and your complete lack of integrity. Truth will prevail.

IPSO: [By] stating as fact that complainant had “compared one of Israel’s 2009 offensive on Gaza to the Shoah”, without quoting reference or otherwise making clear this represented its interpretation.., @JewishChron had failed to take care not to publish misleading information,..

IPSO: ..and failed to distinguish between comment and fact, in breach of Clause 1 (i) and Clause 1 (iv). The quote from the Board of Deputies President was also placed without context, and it was unclear which of the candidates this was addressed to."

IPSO: "The newspaper also accepted that it had assumed, incorrectly, that the speech had been made on Holocaust Memorial Day. The publication had failed to take care over the accuracy of these statements in breach of Clause 1(i)."

IPSO: "The article had stated as fact that the complainant had compared Gaza to the Holocaust on Holocaust Memorial Day. The failure to make clear that the comparison represented the publication’s characterisation of the comments was significantly misleading.."

IPSO "Inaccuracy on timing of comments was significant given sensitivity of the occasion & required correction. @JewishChron had published a correction .. online only .., which did not identify & correct all inaccuracies & was then deleted. This did not fulfil their obligations."
