The Arabs of the Age of Ignorance (Jahiliyya) spent the whole year in fighting and plundering. However, they don't fight in the four
sacred months in a year (ie. Rajab, Dhul Qa'd, Dhul Haj and Muharram).

This conventant was held at high esteem by the Arabs. These times afforded them serenity, peace and harmony.
A misunderstanding brewed up between the Arabs which later manifested into the 4th Fujar Battle [it is named so because it violates the afformentioned conventant].

It was during this time he witnessed his first battle.
His participation in this battle at such young age tells us about the unparalleled valour of the Prophet (s). His bravery knows no bounds and even heros such as Umar (r) says:

The Prophet's participation was rather indirect. He was only there to assist his uncle Abu Talib by warding off arrows shot at him.
This battle first started off with man from the Kanana tribe killing a man from Hawazin due to envy. The Kanana and the Quraysh were allies.

Hence, the Quraysh had to join in the war.
This war reportedly lasted beyond 4 years, and Muhammad(s) participated in order to protect his loving uncle.
He was a shepherd. He said: "All Prophets have been shepherds for some time before attaining prophethood".

From here, Rasul (s) ventured into trading fullh, which would lead him into meeting the most dignified woman to have step foot on this earth, Nana Khadijah (r).
