Here is my response.

There has been some good (but perhaps not enough) criticism of Christianity and Islam from the Hindu leaders in the last 150 years - viz. Swami Dayanada Saraswati and other Arya Samaj leaders like Pt. Lekhram, Swami Vivekananda, Chattambi Swamigal,

Veer Savarkar, Ram Swarup and Sita Ram Goel. In the last 2 decades, many Hindus have been writing scathing criticisms on Abrahamic religions thanks to internet.

Arya Samaj spearheaded a fiery and sustained campaign questioning the tenets of Izlam in a very big way.

Pt Lekhram (1858-1897), a scholar of Sanskrit, Arabic, Persian and Urdu wrote 30+ books in Urdu alone exposing the truth about Izlam. He directly debated with Mirza Ghulam, the founder of Ahmaddiya movement.

His book exposing K@ran and the prophet resulted in law suits in courts and huge riots by Muzl!m mobs in north India. These books were read by lot of Muzl!ms themselves and resulted in mass reconversions (Ghar wapsi) into Hinduism which were facilitated by Arya Samajists -

this was possible because many Hindu communities in Northern and Western India forcefully converted centuries back were actually borderline Muzl!ms, who still had Hindu cultural traces not erased and they were never fully and properly Izlamized. During 1890-1930s,

it is estimated that more than 10 lakh people came back to Hinduism in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana and parts of U.P, in some cases the entire communities coming back, like Malkana Rajputs. After some initial hitches, they got well integrated into Hindu society.

This troubled Izlam!sts to no end. The founding of Tabligh movement with the aim of teaching proper !zlam to Muzl!ms was the Muzl!m response to this. During the same period 30+ Arya Samaj leaders from Pt. Lekhram all the way to the great Swami Shraddhananda were brutally .

murdered by Muzl!m gangs in well planned assassination attacks. This created the fear psychosis even among the Arya Samajist Hindus (unfortunately the rest of the Hindu Samaj did not want to take such risks, they did not even extend big support to Arya Samaj in such endeavor,

largely) and over time they had to abandon this campaign. After this sordid saga, there are stray Ghar Wapsi incidents here and there, but no focused campaign from the Hindu side.

Regarding Christianity, Hindu scholars have been encountering it with solid debates

since 16th century till today. Sita Ram Goel has written a brilliant book on this "History of Hindu Christian encounters: AD 304 to 1996". But he cautions that in spite of losing in all such debates, Christianity spread in those very parts of India where these debates happened,

because it has well oiled missionaries which penetrate the target populations with all kinds of tactics and methods aimed at conversion.He asks the Hindu leaders to work towards curbing and stop this organised menace at every level as that is the only way to stop their expansion.
