Last night’s late ruling by the 8th Circuit Court will change the rules for counting ballots. Only ballots received by 8PM on Election Day will be counted, potentially disenfranchising some Minnesotans. (thread)
Changing the rules just before the election is one more effort to suppress the vote. I want to connect about what we need to do to ensure that every vote is counted.
If you have a ballot and have not yet returned it, you need to make a plan to return it in person - you can find where to drop it off at iwillvote.com
If you need support to get to your location or to ensure access to the ballot, call 833-DFL-VOTE, that’s the DFL’s Election Protection hotline.
If your mailed ballot isn’t yet accepted, you can choose to vote in person instead. Doing so will invalidate the ballot you mailed- a provision that allows us to protect and cast our ballot.
Take thirty minutes today to sit down and contact your network, everyone in your contacts, and make sure that they have returned their ballot or have a plan to vote. It’s important to share solutions and solid sources of information.
Minnesotans are voting with fierce determination. So far, 82% of the absentee ballots requested in the state of Minnesota have been returned. Almost 1.5 million people have already voted. It’s up to us, and the work we will do together, to make sure every vote is counted.

This is no game Jason Lewis, @LewisForMN. With more than 230,000 American deaths and 9M infected, suggesting this is a game is why you aren’t going to represent Minnesotans in the US Senate. 🧵
Earlier this week, you had emergency surgery in Hibbing. By your own words, you received excellent care by doctors, nurses, and health care workers. That’s our job, our code, our oath.
Our healthcare workforce is under tremendous strain caring for those who become very ill from the virus. As #Covid surges, remember that they are working with inadequate PPE, no standard testing, and are often working short staffed as providers get sick themselves. #NotAGame
In seven weeks, Minnesota's kids, teachers and support staff are due back in school. There is currently no real way to go back to school safely.
A thread. 🧵1/15
We know congregating indoors spreads the virus and returning to school risks the health and lives of educators and support staff, parents and grandparents, and the children themselves. 2/15
We are still learning about the virus and its impact on the health of children and precaution is required to keep them as safe as can. 3/15
1. Erin understands the urgency of this moment calls for bold leadership, & that we must chart a new course for the sake of our planet, communities, and children. Erin will use our voices to organize and engage Minnesotans with purpose and joy to make change.
2. As a nurse, Erin has a deep understanding of the healthcare needs in our state. It is urgent that our state choose Minnesota families over corporate profits. That’s why she supports single-payer and will fight to make MinnesotaCare available to all.
