ive said this before, but my whole problem with this argument is - black people, latino people, asian people - we all lost the factory jobs during globalization, and yet... we didnt go all racist. but its used as an excuse w white people.
we should help *everybody* esp the people on the lowest rungs no matter color. but don't concoct all kinds of bullshit excuses for their racism. you lost your factory job? great. so did jose and tawana, they didn't choose to go racist or nativist. do better.
imagine the black version of this
"Terrell, the factory closed, we moved the jobs to China."
"Ok, well now I'm a black nationalist. I support the political party that says kill white people"
"Wait, what?"
"I'm feeling economic anxiety"

Right now all the Trump people are telling reporters about what their polling really looks like for their post-election stories. If history is any indicator (Romney, McCain) all the cable news bravado is total bull.
You’ll probably start seeing a turn late on Election Day, when the jig is almost up
Look for bs like “we knew this was a difficult environment for us...”
No political take I have gets people going like my admittedly unusual movie takes. I still haven’t done that Casablanca rewatch to see if my scorching hot “it’s ok I guess” take holds up.
So far the biggest movie I loathed that I think many like has been Amadeus. It seems people generally agreed with me that Chariots of Fire wasn’t great?
BTW I hate when I don’t like a classic movie and people insist it’s an age/context thing. No, if anything I tend to like a lot of movies from long before my time. But I like to assess a movie on it’s own, not because everyone says it’s good.
the press in our country has a derangement. its dangerous.
"As President Donald Trump faces an uncertain future, so too does a fixture of the American political scene over the last five years: the Trump campaign rally, a phenomenon that has spawned friendships, businesses and a way of life for Trump’s most dedicated supporters."
as someone who has had to watch a ton of these, trump is hooked on them. he gets such a high from it.
i dont think this is any kind of indication of how the race is going. trump just loves these. he lives for it. it completes him. think about it: he's a giant narcissist and he has arenas full of people - exposed to a virus - screaming for him. loves it!
What? Oh just compulsively checking on the early voting numbers and the latest tallies, like a crazy person.
“Ok well what if he gets PA but NOT Wisconsin but wins NE-2 and we don’t get Florida on Tuesday, do we still have a country? AND WHAT ABOUT TEXAS” - me fiddling with the interactive electoral map, again
“What do you mean there hasn’t been any fresh polling in [SWING STATE]? What are those assholes at Quinnipiac DOING TO MY LIFE?????”
