Biden reportedly has 4,000 lawyers on standby in Florida.
thedailybeast.com/biden-has-4000…
This has already been brought to the attention of a judge.

I am confident every vote will be counted (OK, I'm biased. I'm also a volunteer lawyer for the election.)
Get everyone you know to vote.

And no mail, okay? Drop off those ballots or vote in personal.
This video is what is commonly known as evidence 😉
Yay, you.

When you get a moment, can you see about that pile of ballots at the Miami Dade post office 😉

I want to tone down my statements about this case.

Nobody ever knows for sure what a court will do. I've seen courts make some very bad rulings.

This case should get tossed out quickly, and I expect if this court goes off the rails, an appellate court will overturn.

1/
It should get tossed out because this form of voting has already been found to be legal by courts, and it is too late to bring this lawsuit.

Even Kavanaugh said that rules can't be changed too close to an election. Obviously they shouldn't be changed after people vote.

2/
This is particularly true if voters voted according to the rules that were in place at the time.

My takeaway from this is that Republicans are terrified by the way they know people are voting.

In the end, these tactics don't work.

Exactly. It's the Strongman Con.

What's the strongman con?
I wrote about it here: justsecurity.org/72609/dont-bel…
When you panic, you help with the con.

The con: "The GOP can steal this election, so it doesn't matter how you vote."

1/
When the wannabe strongmen act like they can steal the election, and everyone panics, this amplifies the con and gives it credence.
justsecurity.org/72609/dont-bel…

Even with people amplifying the lie, we've seen that it doesn't work.

Look at Wisconsin in April.

2/
In April, the GOP did everything they could to steal that election.

Turns out, people don't like it when they know someone in power is trying to silence their vote.

Wisconsin voters overcame all the obstacles and the Democrats won.

Something I've always noticed. True leaders (like Stacey Abrams, Kamala Harris, and others) try to tamp down panic.

If someone is trying to get you to panic, take a deep breath.

Even in an actual emergency, a cool head saves lives.
This doesn't mean "don't be concerned."

It doesn't mean "pay no attention to warning signals."

It doesn't mean, "Don't prepare for emergencies."

Keep in mind that panic-inducing tweets get more clicks and retweets. Some sources thrive on the number of clicks they get.
I already retweeted this ⤵️Putting it here because it is wise.

Bad actors want Tuesday to be chaotic.
Bad actors want democracy not to work.

If you see an actual problem, there are hotlines and resources.

Correct.

States have their own deadlines. Ballots received by the deadline but not counted until after Nov. 3 will be included in the totals.

Ballots that arrive after deadlines may be the subject of legal disputes-- if they would sway the election.

If ballots are late because of deliberate sabotage, those obviously must be counted.
2/
Democrats as a rule have voted earlier than Republicans. So batches of late-arriving ballots are likely to have more or equal numbers of Republican ballots.

Did I mention that nobody should put a ballot in the mail at this point, even if your state has a long deadline?

Nobody in any state should put a ballot in the US mail at this point.

Check the rules in your state for where you can turn in your completed ballot.
Sign up to get text messages to voters. There are phone banks and text banks in every state. Check with your local Democratic Party.

Some states allow for ballots to be counted if they are postmarked before election day.

But just get it in now.
Personally, I'm a fan of absentee ballots. I like filling out my ballot at home, at my leisure, where I can do my research and check for errors.

Cancelling your absentee ballot and voting at the polling place can clog up the line.

Turn. It. In. As. Soon. As Possible.

Dear Twitter:

We need to have another talk about the strongman con.

Why do you all give Trump so much power over you? He tells you to panic and you do. When you panic, you help him appear mighty. He isn’t. The voters are.
Panic is unbecoming. What is becoming is the ability to solve problems as they are put before us.

Yours truly, Twitter mom.
People ask me to make them "feel" better.

I cannot guarantee a happy ending.

If enough people vote for Biden, democracy will survive. A last-minute surge in Trump voters means 4 more years.

It's up to us. That's what's wrong with panic. You act like it's up to someone else.
