You see, like most people, I started my career 'freestyling'
The truth is the higher you climb in career the more you realise a key ingredient to success is being intentional. Few people learn this from mentors early on, while others pick this up as they move through life.

Being intentional means many things:
It means conducting a community engagement project or volunteering a year before you apply for a Chevening award or any scholarship to build your profile and improve your chances ( not forgetting the altruism involved of course)

It means making deliberate effort to spend time with family because you want a close-knit family in future.
It also means publishing papers and attending conferences because you want to apply for a PhD funding in future.
