Rivers state was very peaceful before IPOB suddenly killed six Soldiers and four Policemen. Destroyed all the Police stations and burnt all the courts in Oyigbo.
We all know when you kill a security operative particularly the army they
They didn't stop there but started renaming communities in Rivers State and put up flags in some places.
IPOB went on to attack the Hausas and I called for the curfew when it was degenerating into a tribal conflict with the Hausas.
Everybody knows if there is one person the military doesn't like it is me but that the army doesn't like me doesn't mean I shouldn't speak the truth.
Nobody has criticized the Police or Army more than me but you don't go and kill them and expect me to tell you welldone.
Saying i sent soldiers to oyigbo to kill Igbo people is nonsense because I have no relationship with the Army and can't command the Army, I can't even command the Police much more to direct the army.
What I said and still maintain is that security agencies should maintain the ban on IPOB and shouldn't allow their activities anywhere in the State as no sane govt would sit back and encourage the kind of destruction they carried out.
The only problem with Oyigbo is the activities of IPOB not Igbo people. We have lived peacefully and intermarried with the Igbos for years and nothing can change that. Oyigbo people should also rise to the occasion and assist in flushing the IPOB extremists from among them.
The story of house to house killings in Oyigbo is false but as a further measure we have called for a Security Council meeting to review the security situation in Oyigbo.

While the Government acknowledge and appreciate the enormous contributions from non-indigenes to the political, social and economic development of the State, #Broadcast
it will neither accept nor allow any individual or group from within and outside to violate the peace, endanger lives and property under any guise in the State.
And so, let it be understood that we have nothing against all or any specific tribe and will continue to live in peace with people of all other tribal extractions residing or doing business in Rivers State.
Rivers State government has decided to pay N20 Million compensation to the families of each of the soldiers and policemen killed by members of proscribed Indigenous Peoples Organization of Biafra (IPOB) in Oyigbo last week.
In addition, Rivers State Government has promised to rebuild all burnt police stations in Oyigbo and vowed to ensure that the terrorist organisation no longer exist in Rivers State. #EndSARS
The State Government will support the Police to make sure that all IPOB members who masterminded the killing of the policemen and soldiers, as well as the wanton destruction of Police stations in Oyigbo are apprehended to face the full wrath of the law.
I call for a total reform of the entire security agencies beginning with the Nigeria Police Force.
From the beginning, we in Rivers state suffered in the hands of SARS operatives as they killed innocent people and made the State ungovernable.
They even killed a polytechnic lecturer. We cried but they reduced it to politics. The Media tagged us Rivers of Blood when we had security issues. #EndSARS
If we are sincere in this country, what affects one part of the country will be taken seriously by others. Unfortunately, we politicise everything.
Let us practice true federalism. You cannot support community policing and say State Police will be controlled by Governors.
The Federal Government is trivialising the demands by #EndSARS protesters by directing State Governors to take charge of Tactical Commands of the Police.
State Governors cannot take charge of Tactical Commands because they cannot employ or discipline anyone who errs.
In Rivers State, we set up a Judicial Commission of Inquiry that indicted SARS officers. Instead of the Police authorities punishing the indicted officers, they shielded them and even promoted one to the rank of an Assistant Inspector General.
Now the Federal Government wants us to set up another Commission of Inquiry when the report of the last one we set up was not implemented.
Like I have said before, election is not only about voting, the votes should be counted, then you proceed to collation stages; ward, local and state government levels. The collation stage is the critical period.
So, I urge both INEC and security agencies to protect all the collation centres. When that is done, everybody who has voted will be happy to see that their will has prevailed.
The Hotel where the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike is lodging while on official assignment in Benin, Edo State has been held siege by over 300 Police men.
Recall that Governor Wike was appointed Chairman of the PDP National Campaign Council for the Edo Governorship election; this is same position Governor Ganduje of Kano State occupies for his party the APC.
Governor Ganduje and Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State are all in Benin, Edo State carrying out their assignment for the APC without any molestation or intimidation.
