I wish to, on behalf of the Government and people of Rivers State, appreciate and most sincerely, thank you for graciously approving the refund of the sum of N78.9 billion to the Rivers State Government, as cost of execution of Federal Government's road projects in
the State.
2. Let me also, through you, thank the Vice President, His Excellency, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, GCON, as well as other members of the Federal Executive Council, for the support they provided to our request.
3. Mr. President has by this remarkable and heart warming gesture shown not only your love for the Government and people of Rivers State, but, also, demonstrated expressively that you are, in deed, a President for every State of the Federation and all Nigerians.

I told them that in Edo State, we must handle the issue carefully and carry everybody along. They must respect human beings and not behave like tax collectors.

They said because an order was obtained from a  Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, then I am responsible.
I have had sleepless nights to resolve the issue in Edo state. The Governors of Edo, Adamawa, and Delta states, know what I have done to resolve the issues in Edo state.

As a result of this senseless accusation, I have pulled out of Edo State settlement. My integrity matters.
I have also directed my lawyer to write ThisDay Newspaper on the publication they made against me in their Tuesday,23rd June, 2020 edition.

Pursuant to the fundamental objective of stopping the spread of coronavirus, we have reviewed the situation in Bonny  Island and Onne Communities and come to the conclusion that a total lockdown is necessary at this time to shut down the continuing spread of the virus
By this measure, all shops, offices and business places must remain closed.

All gatherings, including religious, burial and wedding activities are prohibited. All entry and exit into the two communities, except those on essential services and duly permitted, are also banned.
Security agencies have been directed to enforce the lockdown by arresting and prosecuting anyone who dares to disobey these directives.

41. In the last one year of our second tenure, we have kept our promise, worked hard and achieved more with less resources, provided first-class socio-economic infrastructure and kept our State and businesses safe, secure.

42. As we continue on this progressive trajectory into the second year, we can only promise to recommit ourselves to work harder and deliver greater development to our people.
43. We know it is not going to be easy given the very poor state of the national economy and the spinoff effects on ours.

51. Thank you and may God continue to bless us all and bless our dear Rivers State.

As I have stated earlier, there is nothing to worry about the increasing number of positive cases as such is not unexpected in the light of the intensification of contact- tracing and increased testing of suspected cases.

#Lockdown #Broadcast
As 60% of the positive cases recorded in the State are connected with oil company workers, we have initiated a meeting with all the major oil companies to work out strategies on how we can stop this trend and stop the risk this category of workers now pose to the State
Furthermore, Government is investigating the rumored or suspected outbreak of the virus at Bonny Island.

In continuation of our struggle against the spread of covid-19 in our State, we had planned to resume the total lockdown on Obio/Akpor and Port Harcourt Local Government Areas from Wednesday 27th May 2020.

#Lockdown #Broadcast
However, after a comprehensive review of the measures we have taken and further considerations placed before us by well-meaning members of the public, the State Security Council has decided to cancel the proposed lockdown on Obio/Akpor and Port Harcourt Local Government Areas .
In essence, no part of Rivers State is or will be under any lockdown from this moment and this will be so, except where it becomes necessary again.

It is important that as we fight COVID-19, we should not abandon very important infrastructure. People will still be alive after COVID-19, so we need to develop basic infrastructure.
Our fight against coronavirus is very serious, but we have to continue to deliver projects to our people.
We must also know that other works are ongoing, like those engaged in essential services. We gave approval to Julius Berger to make sure that they don't come out with flimsy excuses.

The wearing of face mask in all public places is now compulsory throughout the State.

The State’s Security Council will meet in the next 24 hours to consider and approve necessary mitigating measures for commuters, including the deployment of Government buses to shuttle designated public routes free of charge.
#Covid_19
While we agree with Mr. President’s decision to gradually re-open the country for business, we shall be guided by the peculiarities of our State on when to relax the measures we have put in place and gradually restore business activities to the State.

Security agencies arrested 22 staff of Exxon Mobil who came into the state from neighbouring Akwa Ibom State in violation of the extant Executive Order restricting movement into the state. We do not know the coronavirus status of these individuals.

#Covid_19
Even though security agencies advised that they be allowed to go back to Akwa Ibom State, I insisted that the law must take its course. This is because nobody is above the law.

As a responsive government, we have quarantined them in line with the relevant health protocols and they will be charged to court.

Some people want the escalation of the virus in Rivers State. People were paid to canvass a negative narrative on Carveton Pilots.

In the Spirit of Easter therefore, and after a careful review of the state of COVID 19 situation in our State, we have decided to temporarily relax the restriction on large religious gathering, as follows:

#Covid_19 #Broadcast
Friday 10th April 2020 – all Moslem faithfuls should observe Juma’at prayers in their mosques or prayer grounds throughout the State and pray for the peace, forgiveness and the blessings of Allah upon the State.

#Covid_19 #Broadcast
Sunday 12th April 2020 – all Christians should have Easter Church Services with their full congregation and pray to God to forgive us of our sins, continue to intervene in our affairs and protect the State and our people from the Coronavirus.

It is quite unfortunate that the containment of coronavirus has been politicized by the Federal Government. While Lagos State received a grant of N10billion as a commercial hub,
#Covid_19
Rivers State as the nation’s oil and gas hub that produces a greater percentage of the nation’s wealth has not received any support from the Federal Government.

#Covid_19
One wonders why Federal Government should single out a state out of 36 States to give support. Does it mean that support will come when a State has a record of over 50 infected persons before it gets support.

Following the interventions of some well-meaning citizens of the state, the suspension of the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area has been lifted.

However, this should serve as a warning to Local Government Chairmen and Traditional Rulers who will allow markets to be open in their areas.

My Dear Good People of Rivers State

I am constrained to address you again after my last broadcast of Thursday, March 26, 2020.

#COVIDー19
After some days of monitoring the level of compliance of the State Government's directive for markets in the state to be closed, we were shocked to discover that some markets have continued to violate the sit-at-home order.

#COVIDー19
We have no choice than to make some painful, but necessary decisions to further prevent the spread of coronavirus in the State.

Therefore, after a meeting of the State Security Council today, the following decisions were taken:

It is with gratitude to God that I announce to you that our State would have been infected with coronavirus yesterday, but for the vigilance of security agents who, acting on a tip- off prevented an infected person from boarding a flight from Abuja to Port Harcourt.
#COVIDー19
The infected person beat all security measures that were put in place at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja and Abuja and was to sneak into Port Harcourt before security agents stopped her.

#COVIDー19
Based on this alarming Information, the State Security Council met yesterday and reviewed measures already put in place and decided that there was urgent need to adopt stringent measures to protect those living and doing business in the state from the virus.

I have received calls from several prominent Nigerians on the fake news being circulated online. I have come here with Reporters and you can see there was no Mosque here.
It is most unfortunate that fickle minded persons will claim that a Mosque was demolished at this place, when no Mosque existed here. The story was concocted by mischief makers to score cheap points.
Some persons came here to erect illegal structure. There was no approval from the State Government for any structure to be erected here.

From today henceforth, no child either in primary and secondary schools should pay fees and levies in any school across the State.
The monies you collect from these children are just used for your personal purposes. If I hear that any school head collects any fees or levies, be the examination , NECO or WAEC fees, that school head would be sanctioned.
We shall not only dismiss the school head who collects fees or levies, we will prosecute the person involved.

Government will work out grants that will be sent to the schools for their regular management and operations .

"He has his own team that is making money for him through oil bunkering".

We will have a security meeting and he will release the details to criminals. And the Chief of @HQNigerianArmy Staff will leave the man here because he is playing their role.

How will security of the state be with such a man as the GOC? He will compromise when fighting to reduce crime, they sent us a GOC who destroy the security architecture of the state.

Throughout my experience politically,I have never seen the Nigerian Army play the kind of role they played during the last General Elections.
The Nigerian Army purely made political interferences all through. We will show you the visuals of the roles played by the Nigerian Army.
If you go to the 6 Division, unless they have moved them out, you will see ballot boxes and electoral materials. The 6 Division served as the take off base for the Electoral Interference.
