My husband and I haven’t been on a date outside of the house in 8 months. We have 2 high risk kids and high risk parents. We finally snuck away for a couple of hours for a much anticipated night out. Want to know what crazy, wild thing we did?...
We planted more yard signs at polling places. The reason we haven’t been out is due to incompetent, ineffective leadership from the top down. We wanted to spend our time doing everything in our power to get the word out about the incredible candidates who have a recovery plan...
1/ This isn't easy, but you need to know why State Senator Andrew Koenig (MO SD 15) is the wrong choice. At the age of 16, I was raped at gunpoint. Koenig's policies have only benefited my attacker and others like him and harmed me and other survivors. @MomsDemand
2/My attacker was under the age of 21 when he held a loaded gun to my head on that cold night. Andrew Koenig supported lowering the age to obtain a concealed carry permit from 21 years old to 19 years old. He supported my attacker legally owning a firearm. bit.ly/34SSteU
3/ Last session, Koenig supported giving kids guns w/o parent consent. The reason was it wouldn't be fair to grandparents who wanted to take their grandkids hunting for squirrels. Again, his policies make it easier for my attacker to acquire a firearm. fxn.ws/329RmWJ
As high rates of gun violence is discussed by Missouri’s Governor Parson, there is no mention of the fact that MO has some of the weakest gun laws in the nation. #moleg@MomsDemand
You cannot refuse to regulate firearms, even in the most minuscule ways, while complaining about increasing gun violence and loss of life.
As Parson calls a special session to address violent crime, I am hopeful that our lax gun laws will be addressed. Unfortunately the @MissouriGOP has refused to act without approval from the NRA.
The @MissouriGOP feels as if keeping firearms out of the hands of convicted domestic abusers is somehow taking away our freedom. Why do they feel threatened? Why are they so set on protecting domestic abusers? #GunLawsSaveLives#moleg@MomsDemand
Since 2017, MO has allowed people to carry concealed, loaded firearms in public without a background check or permit. Missouri currently has the Fifth-highest gun death rate in the country and exported crime guns at a higher rate than the national average.
Missouri does not: •Require a background check prior to the transfer of a firearm between unlicensed parties.
•Prohibit the transfer or possession of assault weapons, 50 caliber rifles or large capacity ammunition magazines...
