@MEPublicHealth is reporting 7260 total cases (+183). That is the single largest one-day increase we've had.
6417 are confirmed and 843 are probable.
2/Overall, 150 individuals have passed away (=) and 5751 have recovered (+69).
Right now, 38 people are in the hospital w/#COVID19. 17 of them are in the ICU and 2 are on a ventilator.
That is +5 more people *just in the ICU* since yesterday.
3/Our 7-day positivity rate is now 1.52%.
It has nearly tripled over the past 14 days (one incubation period). #COVID19#Maine
4/#COVID19 testing volume remains robust, at 593/100K people. #Maine
5/In terms of geographic distribution, 25% of yesterday’s #COVID19 cases in #Maine were from Cumberland County, 19% from York, and 10% from Kennebec.
6/This degree of community transmission means that face coverings and physical distancing are more important than ever.
Why do I worry? Today's community transmission can become tomorrow's outbreaks in places like nursing homes. We all need to do our part to keep them safe.

1/Dear #Maine-here's where we are w/#COVID19 today. @MEPublicHealth is reporting a total of 6715 total cases today, with the *important* data-related note from earlier.
Of those, 5944 are confirmed and 771 are probable.
147 individuals have passed away and 5554 have recovered.
2/The hospitalization data in #Maine are concerning. Right now, 29 are in the hospital w/#COVID19.
7 of those are in the ICU and 1 is on a ventilator.
Two weeks ago, 9 people were in the hospital; none in the ICU and none on a ventilator.
3/28% of yesterday’s cases were from Cumberland County, 25% from York, and 15% from Somerset.
Thankfully, no new individuals have passed away w/COVID19.

A disruption on Saturday in the data delivery system that reports COVID-19 test results from labs to Maine CDC caused today’s website update to include fewer cases than would have been reported in the past 24 hours.
3/This means that today’s reported number of new cases reflects fewer than 24 hours of data, while Monday’s update will reflect more than 24 hours of data.
