Dear MAGA,

Donald Trump never had the support of the majority of the people in this country. Not ever.

Maybe where you live he did. But, and this probably cuts to the heart of the issue, a world exists outside of your personal wants, beliefs, and demographics.

Once you wrap your mind around that fact then you just might see that no poll, not even Fox News own polling, ever indicated that he enjoyed support outside of his base, namely you, though, granted, that base proved to be disturbingly large and loyal beyond reason.

But Donald Trump tweets that the polls are all wrong and you believe him without question?

He tells X is Y and suddenly you all believe X is Y even when you're looking at an X.

Think about that, then look up the definitions of "cult," "cult leader," and "groupthink."

So, he is going to whine, moan, throw hissyfits and accuse everyone of breaking the rules that he to cheat and bend and change everyday since he began his 2016 run.

Remember, we were all forced to watch him cheat his way into the presidency in 2016, a nightmare in realtime.

We had to watch as he mocked and bullied one of the most accomplished, kind, and intelligent women in our nation's history. And then we watched as the evidence of his real crimes and misdemeanors piled sky high, again, many in real time. And you applauded it all.

And despite the fact that she received THREE MILLION more votes than him, and evidence of real mischief and worse existed in every swing state she "lost" in Hillary Clinton did what she believed was best for the country.

She conceded and stepped aside.

But then, Hillary Clinton has class and Donald Trump has none.

She has humility and Trump has none.

She wants what's best for all Americans, even those who do not support her, but Trump does not.

He will embarrass himself and this country until the moment they pull him screaming from the White House.

And that's sad.

Pathetic really.

I guess you all enjoyed this four year shit show of a circus where everything was always about him, but the rest of us did not.

We did not enjoy having needed stimulus funds hijacked by his fucking ego, because he didn't want a single dollar or OUR OWN MONEY to fall into a hand of a non supporter.

That is so horrible it gives me a sour stomach typing it, let alone knowing it's true.

That list and this thread could go on for, well for years, it is that long, but I just wanted you to know that the rest of us are just tired of it and we want it gone and done as soon as possible.

Like yesterday, or four years ago really.

This has been an embarrassing and ridiculous moment in America's history and we are all praying that some of you will realize that soon and shake this shit off and come back into the light...

Where not everything is a drama or conspiracy.

Where the big hulking government (which was built that way on purpose), worked inefficiently most times, but worked none the less.

Where you don't have to hate your neighbors or avoid reunions or believe every Democrat or Liberal is evil.

But we now know that Donald Trump is willing, perhaps hoping, to let this next chapter move into open rebellion and violence.

His ridiculous and dangerous innuendo and lies amount to a pathetic man grasping at strawmen and playing whiny victim to the end.

We know that his lawyers intend to exploit every attention seeking supporter who thinks they saw anything odd at all on or after election day, regardless of context or the personal lens of the witness. There will be lawsuits from here to eternity.

You need not go to 4Chan or the web's other dark places to find rhetoric from his supporters that will make your skin crawl. Look at YouTube and read the comments under Guiliani's embarrassing press conference in Philadelphia yesterday.

Toxic, shocking, and dangerous.

Many are calling for immediate Martial Law and removing all Constitutional protections available. It is the one thing I have always created he would do and I absolutely believe he might try.

Donald Trump is a cancer.

What I know for sure: Every person who has decided to vote for Trump knows EXACTLY who he is and what they are voting for, period.

At best they're voting for a hypocritical and opportunistic liar and charlatan who has triggered a foul and dangerous kind of partisanship.

But we know that the best case scenario is not really what's going on here.

Because the only thing truly different with Trump from most of the GOP is his very public embrace of some of the worst elements of the alt-right (white supremacy) and his refusal to disavow it, ever.

Whether consciously or not the evidence is pretty strong that despite the fact that Trump's actions, words, and policies do great harm to large sections of his base, they continue to be enamored out of what appears a sense of gratitude.

But for what? And why?

I listen to a lot of podcasts. I mean a lot. It's how I spend my time when I'm not writing or politicking.

I've noticed a trend through many of the political Podcasts I listen to of reporters revisiting white men whom they have interviewed periodically this election cycle.

1/

In almost every case these are men who had voted for Trump in 2016 and were now seemingly conflicted about that choice, and, more importantly, were unsure about how they would vote in 2020.

In most cases these men sounded reasonable and genuinely concerned about this nation.

2/

I almost believed some of them. I certainly hoped for some of them.

So did some of the casters.

But in the end every one of them has inexplicably "decided" to once again vote for Trump.

Many hosts have sounded bewildered. Some agitated.

I could feel their pain.

I've been talking to voters here in Kenosha, Wisconsin for about ten days now. The conversations have been wide-ranging and deeply informative. I've always worn a face mask during these conversations and always maintained proper social distancing.

I have learned a lot.

And while the data is purely anecdotal, I believe that Donald Trump has an uphill battle to climb here in the state of Wisconsin if he hopes to repeat 2016.

While his support here is still strong, he has lost many former disciples. And this group is sizable.

If you are enjoying our collective lurch toward a literary level dystopia then by all means don't vote.

You have much to look forward to I promise.

If state promoted racial animosity, that hopes to turn everyone into combatants, is your thing, then don't vote.

If you like to watch others being gouged by predatory lenders with no oversight then don't vote.

If you aren't genuinely concerned about the direction we are going as a country and truly believe that we are in a better place than we were in five or eight years ago, hell, thirteen years ago, then don't vote.

I thought you were smarter and more sophisticated than to buy into misogynistic tropes like "Hillary Clinton was the most unpopular..."

I understand that by being a member of one of the groups who most need Clinton to always have been hated you are biased.

When asked about a peaceful transfer of power Trump said he could not promise one w/ paper ballots in such wide use. There are so many problems with the ballots, he complained. He's fine, of course, with an election run only by electronic ballot thoug.

Venture to guess why?

He argued w/o the ballots there would be "no peaceful transfer of power, and frankly, no transfer. It would be a continuation."

Damn.

He knows this because he knows the Russians will successfully hack the vote in his favor. And he knows it will works because it did once.

Trump comes perilously close to an admission/confession for 2016b here and his turns of phrase regarding the use of ballots border on treason.

There is an underlying and undeniable threat within his verbiage that is horrifying.

And exactly what I warned he would do.
