Cambridge, MA. We were davening outside by friends, and someone came to let us know it was called. People called out. Someone said the prayer for the US govt. for the P and VP elect and then we toasted. We then walked to a park. People were out. Smiling through their masks and ->

congratulating each other. Music was playing from homes, cars were honking and neighbors were conversing happily. Our older daughter (5yo) who waited for days for the race to be called whooped. She's been focused for days on Trump being a meany moo and slowing the mail. ->

We told her that it wasn't just about winning. It was about the policies. We told her about the Paris accord (a piece of paper people signed to say they would clean earth and Trump tore up), about immigration (letting people stay in the US, she added "no matter what ->

skin color they have"), and about telling people to wear masks. She asked about housing ("will he build everyone who needs a house a house?"). So we explained that even the best government can't achieve everything, but at least it tries to help people. We also said Trump ->

gets to have two more months and that he's being a sore loser. We also talked about Kamala harris and what a VP does. Again and again she came back to the fact of Trump's meanness, and together with all the other kids at the playground she discussed the results excitedly. ->

And on the streets of the most scientific city in the world people celebrated a victory of decency over meanness, of truth over lies, and of science over made up fantasies.

Today was a good day.
