Manitoba #COVID19 patients in hospital: (173 new record, increase of 14)

In ICU: 25 (new record, increase of 2)

Five-day Manitoba #COVID19 test-positivity rate: 9.4 per cent

Tests completed Saturday: 3,590

The latest Manitobans to succumb to #COVID19 are all Winnipeg women:

• One in her 70s
• One in her 80s
• One in her 90s, linked to the outbreak at Seine River Retirement Home.

As you've heard if you've been watching Friesen and Siragusa, the health minister has called for an investigation into the Maples PCH - but not an independent inquiry.

Questions remain as to how "adequate" care was provided at Maples when paramedics treated dehydrated residents on Friday.

Friesen suggested patients can deteriorate quickly.

Friesen and Siragusa continued to maintain Manitoba prepared to protect vulnerable people in care homes.

He calls that situation "unacceptable."

Premier Brian Pallister is speaking. The topic is supposed to be the app he announced way back in the spring - Help Next Door, which is supposed to connect volunteers with people who need help during the #COVID19 pandemic.

The pandemic was 12 days old when he unveiled the app.

The province wants "qualified Manitobans" to use the app to volunteer to work at "COVID-19 testing sites and within health-care facilities."

Premier Brian Pallister offers his condolences to the friends and family of the people who died of #COVID19.

Calls surge of cases in Winnipeg region "concerning" and says his govt is doing everything it can to mitigate it.

Premier once again says Manitobans are not following the fundamentals and says again that "we have lost our way."

Says Manitobans who do the right thing will turn the tide.

Premier now listing off what province has done.

Says addition of three large swabbing sites in Winnipeg has increased sampling capacity by 40 per cent.

Says Dakota sampling site now assists in evenings and says 10K appointments have been made at a variety of sites.
