How To Monetize Your Public Speaking skill and establish yourself as an authority.

(Thread)
You have probably said to yourself:

"I am passionate about public speaking and I know how to help people overcome the fear of speaking.

How can I make money doing this?"

Let's see how.

(Remember to retweet)
First, you have to understand and appreciate the power and value of this skill you have.

Public speaking has been said to be among the top 3 worst phobia in the world.

Some people fear speaking in public more than they fear death.

Meaning, they'd rather die.
If you can clearly articulate your message and speak well with confidence

And you can help others do same, then you are sitting on a bag of gold.

Your first step is to truly realise that that skill is a very profitable one.
Many public speaking coaches and trainers are not even worth their salt.

You have probably seen speech and accent trainers who talk like they've got meat in their throat and cotton wool in their nose.

My point is, if you are really good at this, you can make a killing.
Your next step is to identify who you will truly serve.

It is tempting to try to think you will help everyone.

Everyone is not your market.

This is important because your sales message will resonate differently with different people.
I'll give you an example.

I had a client.

She runs a speech training and accent correction consultancy.

She is very good at this, but she was struggling.

Why?

She hadn't defined her target audience.

She told me her ideal client is an elite in the society.
That isn't an ideal client.

Eventually, I showed her how to pin down her ideal client and she locked two high ticket clients the first month.

You need to be clear about who you want to work with.

- Corporate workers?

- Job seekers (who want to ace interviews?)
- CEOs and Managers?

- Other public speakers?

- Trainers and coaches?

- MCs and Comedians?

- TV presenters and hosts?

Who exactly do you think you can help?

Identify them.
Next step:

Identify their MPP...

Their Major Pain Point.

- Could it be they're not confident in their bodies?

- Is there a fault in their accent that embarrasses them?

- Do they struggle to convey their thought into words?

- Is there a past experience affecting their mind?
What is the specific problem you can solve for them?

Here's why this is important:

Promising to teach people how to speak better is vague and bland

But mentioning their exact problem makes them see you as the go-to person.
Once you identify what your major solution is, validate your idea.

Create solutions in form of trainings, courses, coaching programs etc.

In creating these programs, make them practical.

Improving speaking ability requires a lot of practice.
Don't make your signature program another theory.

Make it practical with exercises.

Create an accountability system that ensures that your client takes action.

When they get results, use their testimonials to blow up the program so more people can join.
Dedicate 6 months to working on this and you'll build a 6 or 7 figure business.

Will you take action?

(Remember to retweet for others)
If you've not written a book yet, you should start one.

And if you've started one, but abandoned it, you should get back to it.

Why?

- writing a book helps you establish yourself as a subject matter expert.

It positions you as an authority in your niche.
- Writing grants you access to high network and networth circles in the business world and opens you up to opportunities.

- It significantly increases your earning power, especially if your work gets endorsed by a respected person or you organization.

In trying to build wealth, one truth you need to face and completely agree with is this:

Having talent does not guarantee that you will be rich.

It is a difficult truth to accept but if you must truly build business empires that will reward you financially, you must accept it.
There are too many people who are talented, yet, they are still miserable.

There are others who don't even have half the talent but are amassing wealth in exponential proportions.
Haven't you seen some truly wealthy people, and when you engage them in a conversation, you suddenly realise:

"Wait a minute, I sound smarter than this guy"?

"I know better than this guy!"

Of course you have.

Reading "48 Laws Of Power" at midnight yesterday taught me something.

I'll share with you.

On Thursday last week, my cousin got a job from an Agency, to create a video story.

One thing about this cousin of mine is her ability to write thought-provoking scripts.
For some reason, she was scared.

She had never created a video before and she was already overwhelmed.

She reached out to me and first thing I told her was:

"Drop the job, forget it and go chill. Let's talk in the evening.

Remember to FORGET IT!"

She was going to argue and
ask me why.

I threatened her:

"If I must tell you why, you must pay for my time. Forget it and go have some fun."

My cousin has worked with me on several different projects so she obliged.

Evening came and we had our talk.

How is it possible that someone gets paid $1,000 for something that another person is struggling to get $100...

... and for the same quality of work?

How can you grow your income and increase your charges?
The answer is in the reputation you build.

How people perceive you influences how much they are willing to pay you.

If they think you are not worth the price, even if you are good at the job, they'll be unwilling to budge.
While you work to become good at your skill, remember you are not the only person with that skill?

Several other people are also trying to get clients.

It is important to position yourself well in your market.

Listen Up,

Let's start the day with some juice.

What service can you offer in 2-3 hours and earn 20k?

Can you think of one?

Yes?

Then you can go on to make 300k-500k this month.

Here's why:
For many people, it is not the lack of opportunity.

It is the fact that you are relaxed.

You are pretty comfortable reading tweets and doing nothing.

Of course, you have promised yourself that you will rake action, but you end up spending hours scrolling.
Imagine you put yourself out there as a pro, offer value and get potential clients reaching out to you.

Take up 10 clients at 20k and you have 200k.

When you build your income to a point where you are no longer desperate about money, you can then raise your fees.
