(1) Thread: You (2020) can't keep a good woman down.
@tracybeanz is an accomplished citizen journalist (the kind who do actual free-and-fair journalism like in the old days) who just had a house fire. Her courage & grace are an example to us all.
(3) I've seen house fires first hand, they escalate very, very quickly. As Tracy found, there's no use trying to go back in for essential items.
(4) Tracy also gave a shoutout for the Red Cross & Salvation Army. Every time I write about a hurricane, there are always folk bashing these charities, esp the Red Cross.
These two are ALWAYS ready to respond immediately to support the basics of life. I trust them.
(5) We donate to them now, so they will be there when you or I need them, like Tracy did.
The Red Cross train for emergency response. They have the equipment, supplies and logistics to do it better than ad hoc volunteers can, at least initially.
(6) After her broadcast, Tracy updated her GoFundMe page to explain the insurance issue. As a hurricane watcher, I can't tell you how incredibly common it is for our insurance policies to be insufficient, & we find out when it's too late.
No judgment here. Just love, & support.
(7) Being under-insured has happened to me, and it could happen to you. So let's learn from this and go check our policies today.
FEMA campaigns every year to remind folk to buy flood insurance: It's not a given in US home insurance policies.
(8) It's kinda why I'm HW. I survived an earthquake in NZ in 2011 - 185 people in my city didn't.
The aftermath is still ongoing... Christchurch city is still being rebuilt. Trees have grown in some of the empty lots...
(9) 2020 is still being a bitch to many people on an individual and collective scale. The fact is, 2021 will probably be hard work, too.
We can do it. We got this. Like Churchill said in 1940:
(10) If you're feeling downhearted, go watch Tracy's periscope video about the house fire she and her family had just survived.
Seek out morale boosting material. Churchill is my favorite, but whatever works for you.
(1) So, Twitter deleted a tweet of mine without even telling me. I went to click on a link from a Nov 12th DM chat with someone & I had to screenshot the tweet in a nanosecond.
(2) And, a special shoutout to @5thtimeS for saying Walter Duranty.
There's a whole slew of traitors & seditionists in our history & I want us all to remember them, forever. I bet a young DJT heard about them from his Dad.
(3) One of my favorite hobbies is showing folk the mountain of historical evidence that it's actually the Democrats not the Republicans who supported slavery, war, violence, and in particular, actual "white supremacy," and racism against Jews.
I write about a range of topics, with the overarching theme that the USA* makes the best Freedom Fries & I'm glad they exist and export them to allied countries.
*244 years and counting, if you can keep it.
(2) Thread links in no particular order. This one started out on lawsuits and morphed into a broader topic:
Constantly amazed at people who think that the original antifa (Germany, 1930s) which were all about killing as many Jews as they could, is not the same as they are today. ie still trying to kill Jews. And conservatives.
(2) On top of the other BS we're having to deal with right now, I have to sift through all those saying they're anti-Communist (I sure am) to identify the actual Nazis among them.
Typically they use the term "Bolsheviks" as the object of their hate.
(3) That's because the cadre of disaffected Germans radicalized on the very day WWI ended, such as Hitler and his buddies, hated the "Bolsheviks", who they considered were Jewish.
It gets complicated by the leftist lies about Hitler being right wing. (He wasn't.)
(1) So today I'm doing something I've never done before. I'm publicly questioning an aspect of the Trump campaign's work.
Yes I am confident about the lawsuits being successful but they need to be filed ASAP & I need to see the details. The usual statements are not enough bc:
(2) Some of us are info geeks who like to dig a bit deeper than "trust the plan." Folk are getting assaulted in the street, with Dem-run PDs and media continuing to ignore them.
This cannot stand. The survival of the Republic itself is at risk.
(3) For >4 years now I've been able to deal with the pain of watching innocents getting assaulted or even killed because I knew the 2020 election would give us a chance to shore up Congress, & state govts & let out the throttle on the MAGA agenda.
(1) "BLM and Antifa" is trending bc, predictably, the terrorist groups are harassing and assaulting some of the Trump supporters still outside in DC.
This cycle repeats every time we peacefully protest in a city.
You will be tempted to get angry and retaliate. DON'T.
(2) Keep your powder dry, in every sense of the word. The purpose of BLM and Antifa is to bait us into reacting, then Dem can point and call us all those names they always do.
When Dem voters realize "AP News" doesn't get to decide who is President, they're going to unravel.
(3) Seriously, the emotional and mental state deterioration we're going to see will be like nothing we've seen before.
Remember the 1987 wall street crash? Some people suicided on the spot.
Dem supporters are unprepared to receive bad news about the Presidency.
(1) My impressions of the small change in Twitter's messaging today.
For months, I've had the (unwanted) style of Image 1 on my sidebar and today it reverted to the style of Image 2.
(2) I've been saving screenshots of various Twitter headlines since election day, bc the issues they choose to promote say a lot about where the thinking of the DNC is at. You can tell when they are panicking... and it's going to get a lot worse for them in the coming months.
(3) They were always planting seeds in the minds of TDS sufferers. The below image is from 9/15/2020:
