Absolute abdication of responsibility for protecting public health. Refusal to implement proven strategies to stem viral transmission.

This is called extremism. Clearly, personal responsibility is NOT working. But NDP & UCP rigidly adhere to ideological policy.

It’s the equivalent of continuing to bang your head against a brick wall, even after your head starts to bleed. It’s obvious that the policy and ideology is insufficient to meet the need. But ideology over logic & reason prevails. Along with human deaths and illness.

Any ideology, regardless of its political origin, is NOT meant to replace observation, logic, responding to reality and informed decision making.

It’s obvious the honour system is NOT working. It’s time to enforce mandatory restrictions.

But ideology is precisely the roadblock mentioned by both left and right wing libertarians preventing government interference.

Demonstrating complete disregard for normal ethical considerations.

I’ve attached a couple libertarian ethics articles to demonstrate what is blocking far right and far left politicians and the Public Health physicians from enacting more stringent measures. Please read them.

Libertarians REJECT all positive rights. (Positive rights are roughly equivalent to what are known as human rights).

That includes the right to a safe community where all people wear masks and maintain distance. It infringes on libertarians exercising their liberty.

Libertarians REJECT all rights, but the right of non-interference. Freedom to act as you want is the only right recognized by this ideology.

You can see why politicians/premiers are so hesitant to impose mandatory restrictions on liberty.

Libertarian ethics do not consider compassion a necessary requirement. Compassion is a choice, and foregoing compassion for others is ethical to libertarians because they reject interconnectedness and interdependence.

This is ideological extremism.

The individual is the only unit that matters. Any restraint on their free will is an intrusion.

This applies to left and right libertarians.

You can see why this poses such a problem in a pandemic.

Society is interdependent, as is public health. Our close proximity necessitates interdependence on all other members of society in public health emergencies. This is anathema to libertarian ideology. Meaning, libertarians won’t cave to emotional appeals.

Rigid adherence to extremist ideology is the cause of premiers failure to issue strict mandates to protect public health.

But that’s not the only problem. These beliefs have been influenced by COVid disinformation.

A significant number of people have been indoctrinated with extreme libertarian ideology, & they’ve also been exposed to COVid denial and doubt.

Many believe COVid is fake.

Fostering denial and doubt has been conducted by premiers who have downplayed the seriousness of COVid danger and risk. Likening it to a bad flu.

This has emboldened several who are die hard libertarians to completely ignore public health safety guidelines. Exacerbating COVid.

So this is our current predicament.

1. Libertarians who believe selfishness is morally & ethically sound.
2. Premiers reinforcing disinformation about the risk level and facts about COVid.
3. Political parties validating libertarian ideology and beliefs as normal & reasonable.

4. Majority of Canadians unaware of the permeation of indoctrination of hard core libertarianism in body politic.
5. Libertarian ideology incompatible with public health requirements during a deadly global pandemic.

So who is perpetuating libertarian beliefs & values?

Far right conservatives (who are really ultra far right libertarians) and

Left libertarians, AKA Anarcho-socialists, who have infiltrated the far left and are influencing policy & values.

Canada, as are most western democracies, is at a political stalemate.

Canadians need to decide once & for all, whether libertarian beliefs and values are to be normalized in Canadian politics.

Libertarianism has permeated Canadian politics.

Both ends of the political spectrum have been indoctrinated with archaic libertarian beliefs and values.

This has been done over social media. Using analyzed personal data to discern the most vulnerable to radicalization.

This is the autocratic surge we are witnessing in modern global politics.

This is what Cambridge Analytica and multitudes of similar organizations have been doing to entire populations. Entire nations.

Radicalization of the vulnerable to extremism.

This has been the long game plan to eliminate democracy, liberalism, humanism, compassion, ethical & moral limitations, norms, mores, political moderation, interdependence and democratic institutions.

Archaic forms of libertarianism are aligned with fascist ideology.

Characterized by:

Nationalism
Obstructionist Politics
Promotion of Corporatism/Guilds
Focus on Dominance of Property Rights
Elimination of Positive Human Rights
Rigid Adherence to Ideology
Anarchy

It’s not a coincidence that fascist ideology aligns so closely with both left and right forms of political extremism.

It’s not a coincidence politicians are reinforcing Q’Anon beliefs.

COVid has been weaponized. COVid mitigation has been politicized by radical extremism.

Ideologues have no intention of imposing stringent regulations to protect public health. Unless the majority demand it and openly oppose the validity of libertarian beliefs and values.

We oppose conservatives & extremist NDP or we adopt libertarian beliefs & values.

We choose democratic principles & social interdependence, or we succumb to a regressive period of human existence where strongmen rule, mob justice prevails, & COVid herd immunity is achieved.

The choice is ours and we can no longer avoid deciding. We choose ours and our children’s future now.

I choose democracy. I hope you will too.

Just to clarify, that’s BC NDP. And federal NDP. Not AB NDP.

The implication is clear. Resources have been provided. Gentle guidance has been issued. But UCP will NOT mandate mask use.

Because their ideology forbids mandatory edicts to protect public health.
