The media is tripping over itself to push bad takes today. It’s a reminder that the media is not your friend, it doesn’t exist to inform you, it exists to drum up narratives that will give it the most ratings and page views, and you have to learn how to filter out their bullshit.
The media is desperate to push the fantasy that Trump will run in 2024, so it can spend the next year drumming up ratings by making you afraid of his comeback. But even if Trump announces a 2024 campaign now, it’ll just be a cash grab; Trump will be in prison long before 2024.
Trump knows this, the media knows this, and they’re counting on you not knowing it, so they can scare you into staying tuned in. If you take these media narratives at face value, you’ll always be confused about what’s really going on, and you’ll never be useful as an activist.
There will surely be more faux-drama out of the Michigan GOP tomorrow, and once again none of it will go anywhere. How many of you are going to hide under your desk because of it, and how many of you are going to invest your time trying to win the Georgia runoffs?
Mueller began his probe by giving Flynn a plea deal, because he was so impressed with Flynn’s testimony about Trump’s collusion.
Mueller ended his probe by claiming he found no evidence of collusion.
We deserve answers about the bullshit that must have down in between.
Now that it’s becoming pretty clear that Bill Barr was always an inept bumbler, it raises even more questions. Barr didn’t defeat mueller with some secret evil genius master plan. Barr isn’t capable of evil genius. Mueller just did a 180 and went home. Why?
Some of you are yelling “Mueller is a Republican.” I promise you, nothing is that simplistic. That doesn’t explain a single inch of the overly complex and absurdly self contradicting path that Mueller ended up taking.
When I pointed out down the stretch that Trump wasn't even trying to win the election, merely having fun with his existing voters instead of trying to win over new ones, the fatalists told me it meant that Trump knew he already magically had the election rigged in his favor.
In hindsight, I was right: Trump knew he couldn't win, and therefore wasn't trying to win, and was just stroking his ego while he still could.
The fatalists always spin the evidence in the most negative direction possible, no matter how illogical they have to be about it.
There are so many horrible things happening. And there is so much evidence pointing to additional bad things coming. Why do these fatalists have to spin positive things into imaginary bad things as well? That's why I think it's a clinical issue for them.
