One of the earliest leader of Dharma in Africa was Swami Ghanananda, born in Senya Beruk village in central Ghana, born in a native polytheist Pagan religion in 1937. He journeyed to India due to an inner call, when his parents converted to monotheism.
He was seeking answers to the mysteries of the cosmos. He reached Rishikesh. Swami Krishnananda gave him sanyasa diksha in 1975 and initiated him to Vedanta and Yoga. He then opened a monastry in Accra in 1962. He gained Satgati in 2016.

Considered as the most popular attraction of Hampi, this architectural marvel is located within the Vittala Temple complex. It is actually a shrine built in the form of a chariot and rests on a platform. The shrine is dedicated to Garuda who is the carrier of Lord Vishnu.
