I think it would be good if we collectively decided that the majority of things we categorize as mistakes are simply the necessary stumbling blocks between being bad at something and being competent.
Celebrate mistake makers, they fail so you don’t have to.
It’s absolutely insane what you can achieve if you embrace this idea.
90% of conversations I have about “risk” with people who have good ideas are wildly overblown.
Most people will optimize for protecting social capital (loss aversion) over trying things that might not go the way they thought.
Which is strange if you think about it for a minute - you’re stopping yourself from doing the thing that will have the highest chance of connecting you with people that think like you, to avoid friction with people that don’t.
