An understanding of China's diplomatic assertiveness or "Wolf Warrior" diplomacy. π
China has a virtue. It minds its own business and doesn't meddle in other countries' internal affairs. This allows it to have lightning focus on the problems it wants to solve.
2/ China doesn't invent propaganda lies about other countries to fool its own people or to use as an excuse for aggression. In China's official media, all countries and regions are depicted in a positive light. All countries and people are beautiful and friendly. Africa is
3/ presented as a pleasant place of great opportunities. So China's official media is made out to be the Orwellian Propaganda with smiling faces. Or you can say it's a conscious effort on the part of a well meaning government to promote a harmonious society.
4/ China never dwells on the negative side of other countries. China is the biggest trading partner of 150 countries in the world, ie, China does business pretty much with everyone so cordial relationship is important.
China's utmost "aggressive" foray onto the international
5/ stage as a global leader is its Belt Road Initiative which proposes to lend money and help build the infrastructure for poor countries without strings attached.
Even such a project of apparent utility and goodwill has earned the intense hatred of the West to China's great
6/ incomprehension. China's liberals say, "This is because China's governed by communists. If China were not governed by communists, the world especially the West will love us." The eternal obsession of China's liberals is how to gain the approval of the West.
7/ However Putin is not communist, yet he doesn't seem to have won the approval of the West either.
Given the anti-China hysteria on the world stage, China is doing some soul searching. Is this attitude of doggedly minding one's own business desirable? The bully around the
8/ corner has been bullying to his heart's content in the name of "doing good" without encountering any opposition. The poor the lame the weak in the neighborhood all have been slaughtered, beaten, trampled upon and their homes destroyed yet nobody has said a word.
9/ Not speaking up for the sake of peace hasn't bought China eternal peace. The consequence is that the bully is telling everyone now that China who has been minding her own business is the big bad bully..
All things considered, China's minding her own business is even morally
10/ reprehensible. Silence about the heinous crimes is in itself collusion and encouragement of crimes which may one day visit upon oneself. Malice is always seeking bigger and bigger expression if undeterred.
Hitherto, China has strived to keep a low profile,
11/ to be well-spoken, always considerate, always deferential, careful and circumspect. But the extreme nastiness and aggressiveness of the US/West despite China's retreat is making China think. Maybe retreating, giving way to a bully is not the thing to do. It incites the
12/ bully to press forward its advantages. China didn't retreat during the Korean war and this non-retreat has won China 70 years' peace.
So with such consideration, China is becoming assertive. Or rather more principled instead of forever wanting to
13/ cooperate negotiate and not to antagonize.
This is immediately called wolf warrior diplomacy by the West. It's just that West is not used to China's assertive style yet. China's spokesman Geng Shuang at the UN was calling out the seven major crimes of the US to Humanity.
14/US is a crime ridden regime. But so far there hasn't been an international voice of substance calling out US crimes. China rising has its role to play. It's filling a deficit, ie, pointing out that the bully is bullying. So far the Propaganda has the bully doing good...
I try to present a China in flesh and blood, the rationale, the logic, the thinking and behavioral pattern of Chinese people and government.
Why I think China will have a decisive advantage over the West in AI.
AI is based on the analysis of big data and analysis is philosophy, the understanding of how elements and situations interact with each other. China designed algorithms are shown to be extraordinarily
2/ functional.
Jack Ma's AI is very powerful. His online company lends to the poorest 500 million people in China at the usury rate of 15-20% and nobody defaults. He beats largely the Wall Street sharks thanks to his big data analysis. (Sarcasm intended here π₯). TikTok is
3/ famed for its algorithm targeting consumers with unswerving precision. Twitter is a lot dumber than TikTok. It still thinks I'm a young boy of modest means and its ads always try to get me to buy bermuda shorts at 3 US$ a piece. It thrusts video games at me everyday.
US hegemony is mainly made of the following pillars: 1/ High-tech 2/ US military 3/ US dollar supremacy 4/ Worldwide media Propaganda 5/ US sanctions
US military, equipped with the most advanced high-tech weapon is the most
2/ powerful in the world. US military can destroy any country it wants aided by its propaganda. Given US is able to use war and sanctions to reduce the currency of any country to toilet paper, relatively US$ has become the strongest currency. US can coup any country it wants,
3/ but nobody can coup the US.
All these pillars serve and reinforce each other. China's rising is a game changer. China's advance in high-tech is likely to give its military a disruptive advantage over the US. A regular weapon combined with 5G and AI is altogether of
An understanding of the Taiwan Mainland China relationship
If US intervenes militarily to accelerate the Taiwan unification process, US is not to be blamed but to be thanked. International diplomatic wordplay oblige, blame is put forward instead of thanks. π
2/ US is welcome if it wants to strategically force Taiwan into the arms of Motherland.
Forcefully unifying Taiwan is a piece of cake. China doesn't even have to deploy military forces. Moment when China expresses such intention, Taiwan will surrender for the reason that its
3/ economy will collapse when cut off from the Mainland. In a sense, Taiwan is already de facto unified to China. Taiwan's interdependence and dependence on Mainland China is comparable to California to the rest of America. Its exports to the Mainland represent a sizable chunk
China! China has a problem. All Western democracies have failed to contain Covid19. Why should China have succeeded?
Macron and Trump were convinced that it's impossible for China to have succeeded. More people must have died. China must have been hiding something.
2/ Trump shouldn't have compared himself to President Xi. China makes him look bad. His PR damage control should have oriented Americans' attention to Europe. He should have compared himself to France, Spain Italy.... Scalewise, the Covid19 statistics are comparable.
3/ Besides the US cases are either local or imported from Europe. China is irrelevant to US Covid19.
To plead for Trump, the disastrous Covid19 response in the US is not just a Trump thing. If another president were in his place, the debacle would have been the same.
US/West are schizophrenic. On the one hand they deny the existence of Uighur Islamic radicals who committed 1000s of terrorist acts killing 100s in China. On the other hand, they combat Islamic extremists/separatists at home & start wars which killed 500k innocent Muslims..
West is apologizing, glorifying useful terrorism. Encouraging, sponsoring terrorism to undermine enemies of the West... meanwhile creating false flags blamed on Islamic terrorists to justify wars which is mass terrorism against innocent Muslims.
Which candidate does China prefer, Trump or Biden.
China's general public would rather Trump be elected. Not that Chinese people truly like Trump. Every time he opens his mouth, he says something wildly inappropriate coming from a world leader. Chinese people's first
2/reaction is indignation and confusion but then laughter. Trump is a very bad façade for the US democracy and freedom. As a businessman excelling in dubious art of con deals, profit is his only concern. However the US world dominance is not just about profit. He is
3/ convinced that US has been screwed by China, by Europe and everyone else. His mission is to make sure US is no longer screwed. Instead as from now US is going to screw everyone else (isn't it already the case?). As the world's super power, the US' privileged position of
