Pfizer covid vaccine authorised for use in UK next week, in world first independent.co.uk/news/uk/politi…
The govt says the @MHRAgovuk has done a "thorough analysis" of the data on the vaccine by its experts "who have concluded that the vaccine has met strict standards of safety, quality and effectiveness".
We still dont have published trial results for this vaccine. I hope @MHRAgovuk and @DHSCgovuk publish as much info as possible. A press release isn't good enough.
Matt Hancock says the first tranche of doses available to the UK will be 800k. Enough for 400k people (2 doses). Majority of vaccinations will come in the New Year.
Because of the 2 dose regime and the weeks between doses, no one will be fully protected from Covid until January.
