Can there be any excuse for some of these DNACPR uses?
.@katemasters67 who threatened @MattHancock with a judicial review earlier this year told @Independent "This is not a new issue...The government need to listen to the CQC and take some action or we will just be going round in circles.”
My attempt at trying to briefly explain what a DNACPR is:
.@CareQualityComm "It is possible that in some cases inappropriate DNACPRs remain in place. We expect all care providers to assure themselves that any DNACPR decisions have been made appropriately"

June Raine, chief exec of @MHRAgovuk says Pfizer vaccine will be given to adults over the age of 16. She says "no corners were cut" and decision follows "an extremely thorough and scientifically rigorous review of all the evidence of safety, effectiveness and quality of vaccine"
Vaccine prioritisation order for Pfizer vaccine phase 1. 90-99% of people will be covered
June Raine: "The public can be absolutely confident that the standards we have worked to are equivalent to those around the world"
The govt says the @MHRAgovuk has done a "thorough analysis" of the data on the vaccine by its experts "who have concluded that the vaccine has met strict standards of safety, quality and effectiveness".
We still dont have published trial results for this vaccine. I hope @MHRAgovuk and @DHSCgovuk publish as much info as possible. A press release isn't good enough.
Exclusive: Hospitals have been banned from launching their own coronavirus testing for staff and patients: independent.co.uk/news/health/co…
Leaked documents show the @DHSCgovuk has now imposed a cap on the level of funding to pay for Covid testing in the NHS.
In short hospitals who do their own testing without approval of the Test and Trace service wont get paid.
Staggering at a time when Test and Trace cannot meet national demand for testing and some hospitals say they can do their own local testing and have staff stuck at home unable to get tests
Worrying new report into #COVID19 maternity deaths by @mbrrace reveals lack of intensive care beds, mistakes by redeployed staff and inaccessible mental health services contributed to women's deaths: independent.co.uk/news/health/co…
Remember when Ministers said no one who needed intensive care during #covid19 crisis was denied?
Four women died by suicide between March and May...the report says women were "bounced" between services which had suspended face to face assessments. Tragic reading:
Former Shrewsbury hospital boss lands job as "continuous improvement consultant" with @VM_Institute which is advising NHS trusts on leadership and safety independent.co.uk/news/health/sh…
Mr Wright is also receiving coaching from Mike Goodwin, a former deputy chief constable for Leicestershire Police. This started in July it appesrs.
West Mercia Police announced a criminal inquiry into Shrewsbiry Hospital maternity care at the end of June.
On LinkedIn Mr Wright described his time at Shrewsbury as "taking brave decisions that repositioned the trust to enable it to build solid foundations for genuine improvement and sustainable quality”
Chief inspector Ted Baker told NHS England the CQC had no confidence in the trust to improve adding: "As the independent regulator, our only remaining option is to consider recommending trust special administration." This has not happened yet but implication clear.
