President Mnangagwa is this morning expected to launch the Judicial Service Commission`s 2021-2025 Strategic Plan at the Harare International Conference Centre.
The President has arrived and proceedings begin with the singing of the national anthem.
Chief Justice Luke Malaba rises to give his remarks. He says the launch is significant in the delivery of justice in the country.

He says the strategic plans have been recognised in the region. On achievements, he says the courts have managed to construct new court houses, clear backlogs and improve justice delivery to the people.
CJ Malaba says the new plan seeks to consolidate the gains made. The plan was produced through extensive consultations.
It had input from judicial officers, legal practitioners, civil society and development partners among others.
CJ Malaba says a monitoring Committee will be established to monitor its implementation.
He adds that the strategic plan aids to achievement of Vision 2030 and the devolution principle.
CJ Malaba says the plan seeks to achieve a balance between judicial independence and accountability. He also says the judiciary will continue to assist Government in its fight against corruption.
He says incompetence and corruption will not be tolerated. Neither will the commission be distracted by diversionary tactics of capture.
CJ Malaba adds that anyone aggrieved by decisions of the courts should use available remedies of appeal and review. CJ says the JSC is committed to digitising justice delivery system.

UNDP resident coordinator Maria do Valle Ribeiro gives her remarks. She says the plan seeks to promote gender equality and access to justice for all.
She adds that observance of the rule of law is a prerequisite for development. Says the UN will continue to support the JSC in the delivery of justice.
Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Ziyambi Ziyambi is introducing President Mnangagwa.
President Mnangagwa is now giving his address.
President Mnangagwa says the Second Republic is committed to the development the country adding the JSC is critical in the country's reform agenda, entrenchment of constitutionalism and rule of law.
He says the JSC's strategic plan is critical in the achievement of Vision 2030.
President Mnangagwa says the strategic plan complements the recently launched National Development Strategy 1.
"The judiciary and other arms of Government should contribute to peaceful and cohesive communities," President Mnangagwa.
The President says the judiciary is critical in holding public officials and those in the private sector to account.
He says the JSC plays an important role in fighting corruption and commends them for establishing specialised corruption courts.
The President says his Government will avail resources to expedite decentralisation of the courts.
President Mnangagwa thanks the UN for its support in crafting the plan.
He launches the plan and concludes his remarks.

President Mnangagwa has arrived at the PPC plant in Msasa industrial area, Harare, where he will tour the facility. The President is being accompanied on the tour by VP Kembo Mohadi and several Cabinet Ministers.
Official proceedings have started with the PPC board member Stanford Moyo giving his welcome remarks.
PPC managing director Mr Kelibone Masiyane says the company is committed to the Zimbabwean market since it started production 107 years ago.
Today is World Aids Day and earlier commemorations were held at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC).
This year the commemorations are running under the theme, "Global Solidarity, Shared Responsibility"
National Aids Council CEO Dr Bernard Madzima gave an overview of the commemorations. He called for unity in combating HIV and Aids, saying it will take collective effort among countries to achieve set goals.
Mr Dennis Mhangure Deputy Director in the Ministry of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Harare Metropolitan gave welcome remarks on behalf of Minister Oliver Chidawu.

First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa has joined other African First Ladies in Accra Ghana, for the Merck More than a Mother annual conference. She is accompanied by the Minister of Health and Child Care Dr Obadiah Moyo and the Ministry’s Family Health Director Dr Bernard Madzima.
The two day conference starts today and ends tomorrow. President of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo is expected to officially open the conference. The First Lady is one of the speakers at this Merck Africa Asia Luminary 6th edition.
The conference is being co-chaired by Merck foundation CEO Dr Rasha Kelej and The First Lady of Ghana H.E Rebecca Akufo-ADDO. Ministers of Health, policy makers, health care providers and Academics from African and Asian countries are in attendance.
