The GOP literally WROTE THE RULES on absentee voting in GA. The same GOP that all of a sudden thinks the rules are bad. See...when the GOP was using these rules to drive up Republican turnout it was all good. “It was all fun until the rabbit got the gun” 🤷🏾♀️ 1/4 #2020Election
In 2018 and then, again, in 2020 GA Democrats (Stacey Abrams) decided to use the same tools that Republicans had been using all along. We didn’t change the rules. We just switched the strategy— a strategy that was already being employed by the GOP for years. 2/5
We have LONG way to go to peel back the voter suppression and disenfranchisement that has taken place in GA over the years, but this election showed exactly what happens when we empower the voters that normally face many obstacles in the voting process. 3/5
This election showed us what happens when people can skip the long lines at the precinct. It showed what happens when closing a precinct doesn’t hamper your ability to cast your ballot. Lines and closures didn’t go away, but they were a lil less effective at blocking voters. 4/5
Let me reiterate, GA still has a LONG way to go before we truly achieve fair elections for ALL. Even the absentee process didn’t workout for everyone. We need our SOS to enfranchise MORE voters instead of fighting nonexistent fraud, or moving the goalpost on absentee voting. 5/5

Institutions that are in place to protect and serve the community have allowed individuals under their purview to terrorize and kill with impunity. (1/10)
The reaction when there has been a clear violation of a Black American’s civil rights or a blatant miscarriage of justice = “let’s wait and see.” (2/10)
And often as we wait, it happens again. And when it’s finally time for justice to be served, nothing happens. No one is accountable. Violators are able to go about their life, after callously taking someone else’s away. (3/10)
