As a migrant woman survivor of human trafficking, @ToMalaika calls for holistic services and survivor-based approaches when #AssistingTraffickedWomen. "We cannot correctly assist trafficked women if we don't put survivors at the center of integration and assistance services".

@MyriaVass "We shouldn't touch the Palermo Protocol nor the @coe Convention. In fact, we need correct implementation of Directives in Europe. We need to complement the current EU framework and criminalise the demand for sexual exploitation #EndDemand, as soon as possible.

Three messages from @MyriaVass: political will to reduce this phenomenon does not exist; there are clear vested interests to normalise the crime of #trafficking especially for sexual exploitation; we need to focus on the profit making in the LICIT sectors.

@DLeinarte presents the historical CEDAW General Recommendation 38 on trafficking in women and girls in the context of global migration: root causes of trafficking in women and girls have been gathered under 5 main groups, one of them being lack of addressing #demand by States.

@DLeinarte It is obvious that in order to #AssistTraffickedWomen you need to identify them. Assisting trafficking women means pre-identifying them but also addressing the demand side so that they are not potential victims.

Tatiana Kotlyarenko @osce_cthb @osce_odihr shows @OSCE survey of survivors of trafficking for sexual exploitation. Online forms of recruitment brought new and more severe forms of exploitation, with online sexual exploitation of girls greatly increasing.

@osce_odihr "Women and girls in migration contexts saw increased vulnerability to #THB during COVID19 pandemic", with civil society organisations operating on the ground losing funding and losing the chance of addressing the needs of potential & trafficked women and girls.

With support of the Barcelona municipality, @Fundacio_Surt provided holistic assistance from a feminist approach to #AssistTraffickedWomen. @Fundacio_Surt used capacity-building re trafficked women's social and labour integration & support in mental and physical health.

@SOLWODI share their expertise on the health of women - physical and mental - victims of sexual exploitation, including trafficking. In the framework of #ASSIST, @SOLWODI: accompanied victims to gynecologist consultations; informed medical doctors on #FGM (1)

No medical assistance to victims of trafficking in reception facilities: no provision of translators for the various nationalities; low chances of accessing psychological consultations, rising the levels of PTSD; lack of free female psychotherapists speaking English @SOLWODI
