It’s clear that Trump and the @GOP’s lawsuits are not aimed at courts- they are frivolous and they get thrown out every time.

They are aimed at creating a sense of outrage among their delusional constituents.

The GOP is trying to create a total loss of faith in our democracy.
They want to create a subset of the American population that believe in a total lie.

In fanning the flames and stoking the ire of these people they are creating a political weapon- a racist, authoritarian, anti-science bullying force that can be used to bludgeon the country.
Having a huge percentage of the population divorced from reality helps them to maintain policies that are unequal, racist, anti-science and exploitative.

In other words, the GOP is wiling to totally divide this nation in order to maintain their agenda and stop progess.
They are willing to lead America towards more violence, more disagreements, more strife, more poverty.

The political force they are creating- one that doesn’t believe in science, critical thinking, reason or law is incredibly dangerous.

Don’t underestimate it.
A political base of huge numbers that is totally divorced from reality can do enormous damage.

We must fight this ignorance, hate and division with every tool we have.

It’s clear, also, that the majority of the police forces around the country are a part of this racist base.
So are most of the armed militias in this country.

The republicans know this. They know that these armed forces can be used to bully the whole system.

The lawsuits will be defeated. But the strategy of division and hate is formidable and needs all of our attention and care.
We need real political leadership that addresses this. We need people to stand up and defeat the politics of hate.

It is clear that the Democrats vision of corporate dominance and status quo inequality is the wrong recipe.

We need leaders- regardless of party- to rise above
This insane moment and start to address the real needs of this country. We need education, healthcare, community, assistance, and reality.

People in the USA are suffering. That is where the real roots of the crisis are. In unequal rapacious corporate capitalism.
We need to find new ways to get out of this cycle.

The political revolution that many of us started with Bernie Sanders (also the Squad) shows a way forward. It addresses these social ills. We can’t simply let that fall apart in the face of our political losses.
We need to continue to pursue that agenda. But note that that we need to do the real politics of reaching out. We need to begin to address the real divide in this nation. The rural/urban divide. We do this by trying to understand the divisions and address them.
A great example of innovation is the anti-fracking movement, which is mostly rural. That is a place to start a dialogue between progressive environmentalists and rural conservatives who wished to protect their health and woods. There is a possibility there.
We also need to look to the younger generations who are doing this work- actively trying to heal these divides and campaign for change.

This dialectic needs to break.

We need to invent a new politics.

Where do you see the innovation required? Sincere answers only please!
Here’s proof of their desire to destroy democracy.

Trump not conceding is much more dangerous than it appears.

After WWI a group of German soldiers never conceded defeat after Versailles. They became an armed militia - the Frei Corps- for 20 years and eventually became Hitler’s SS.

Trumps armed militia supporters are very...
similar. They pose a huge threat to the future and to democracy.

These people are racist, authoritarian, violent and they don’t care about what is true and what is not.

Bu the most dangerous thing about them is that they feel wronged. They feel cheated. They, like their...
predecessors, The Frei Corps, feel that they have to keep fighting until they achieve a victory. The more this smolders, the more dangerous it gets.

That’s where Trump comes in- if he clings to these falsehoods, and to these armed militias, he can bring enormous pressure...

We’re having champagne and oysters for breakfast in New Orleans.

@realDonaldTrump is gone and a new era is here!!!!
Oysters (shucked by me) are 50 cents a piece. Prosecco for 13 bucks a bottle at the corner store. This isn’t brunch. This is a cheap Nola breakfast. And I’m sure all you haters can take your comments directly to the local fishermen who are barely hanging on who we are supporting!

1) I voted for @HillaryClinton in 2016, and campaigned for her.

I loathed her campaign and many of her positions.

I voted for her because the movement I am a part of helped shape the Democratic Platform and because I knew we could apply pressure.

But mostly I voted bc...
I wanted to own some small piece of responsibility for what came next.

I voted for her so that she would have been MY President and MY responsibility-to push her, protest her, goad her and move her at every stage.

Democracy is a responsibility. My vote for her was one small..
piece of the power we hold collectively. We must hold our representatives to account, and by my actions I was owning this responsibility- not excluding myself fro it. It was my commitment to the progress of our movement and to our mutual ownership of the government.

People stuck in traffic are witnessing NYPD beat up folks on their way home.
This was sent to me by a friend of the women in the car, @tommiesunshine. Stuck in traffic for nearly an hour on 50th street and third Ave.
Ridiculously, @CNN and @donlemon are interviewing the #Nypd chief and they are saying that protestors started the beatings at the brooklyn bridge. So what is this??? People running through the streets away from cops.

1) I just received notice that the distributor of Michael Moore's #PlanetoftheHumans is taking the film down due to misinformation in the film.

Thank you to @FilmsForAction for responding to our demand for a retraction and an apology from @mmflint.
See below. And thank you to...
2)Thank you to the early co-signers of the letter demanding an apology from @MMFlint:

@MichaelEMann, @Frances_Fisher, @ayanaeliza, @mzjacobson, @leahstokes, @Liptay, @tommiesunshine and many others...

We will continue to fight for truth,#RenewableEnergy and a #GreenNewDeal
3)Like all the distributors of the film that I spoke t, FFA had not seen the film prior to posting it. I don't blame @FilmsForAction for this-they did it bc of @mmflint's reputation. But I think it's strange that Michael Moore would not let anyone see the film before distribution

I just had the unfortunate displeasure of watching PLANET OF THE HUMANS the #Earthday freebie irresponsibly put out by Michael Moore @MMFlint.

The film is an unsubstantiated, unscientific, poorly made piece of yellow journalism which attacks proven renewable energy and science..
I can't believe that @MMFlint would put his name on this.

The film attacks climate heroes like
@billmckibben and disparages the known benefits of renewable energy.

The film is amateurish and puerile, trades in the most propagandistic techniques, roping the audience into...
believing that somehow renewable energy is a sham and that we shouldn't trust folks that promote solar and wind.

The film irresponsibly ignores the decades of peer-reviewed climate & energy science that goes into the current environmental movement.

I'm shocked. AGHAST.
