Why it’s good to set your #COVIDAlert app to auto-update: we’re always improving it and releasing new versions!

For Android 9 and up, this issue may happen because the device prioritizes apps based on their usage. In order to save battery, less frequently used apps can sometimes be paused from performing background tasks - like checking for exposures.
With the new fix, users may see a brief Android message when their phone is checking for exposures. This temporary message will re-prioritize the app and allow it to conduct background tasks.

Opening your app will also trigger checks in your phone. It’s a good thing to do.
So when in doubt:
- Check that you have the latest update
- Open #COVIDAlert

How do you check if you have the most up-to-date version of the app?
- go to your app store
- search for COVID Alert
If the only option is to “Open”, that means your app is up to date!
