Already there is a mountain of examples of Trump and his minions bellowing at the S.C. for upholding the Constitution claiming they did not defend the Constitution by subverting it to their needs & ends.

supporters actually think about the Constitution. It is not America they are defending, but their claim to power. Absolute power. In every case they make no claim for the good of the people or the country only their whiny defeat and loss.

In short they don’t believe in the country, the constitution, or the rules of our society. Like all good enemies of freedom and the country, they want power will use any means to get it. Especially the structure & the systems of the society they intend to subvert.

This is not anything new. This is the well defined process of the takeover of democracies by authoritarian power.This is just how it is working out in our country at this time.

Those who want to accumulate uncontestable power will use the rules when that benefits them, break them when it does not, all the while mounting a fierce propaganda effort.

It is not real. He know better.

But it is the next play in the play book. And, it is being reported, he’s making many hundreds of millions of dollars on. Enough incentive just there, but that is not enough for the power hungry carnivores, Trump and his GOP confederates.

told us, what they want is absolute power forever. A perpetual “Republican“ ruling class.

They do not wish to govern the country. They wish to rule. With all benefits and implications of what that would mean.

Presidential election charade. But more effectively in state houses , for example, where Republicans in defeat , try to change the rules to disable Democrats from governing.

There is a lot of talk about uniting the country. The country does not want to be united by Republicans who think they have been abused. They want power. Not unity. As we see they will use every means no matter how stupid, harmful or ludicrous to try and get it.

This is not over because Trump’s & the Republican lust for power is unsatiated.
They have no problem destroying the country for their own power and benefit. This last gambit by the Texas AG the only the latest example.

This is How democracies perish. The anti-democratic forces use the rules of democracy to blow it up.

As Lincoln said in his time. That we are in a struggle, a war, to see whether the nation devoted to the rule of law and the profound constitutional liberties can long endure.
