The question isn’t gov versus no gov. Government is just a term describing the principles and structure of social relationships. This includes the particulars identified in the preamble of the Constitution. Common defense. Domestic tranquility as well as the general welfare.
The principles that underlie constitutional form of government, the ones underlined these days in the breach, rule of law, consent of the governed, various freedoms established in the Bill of Rights, nobody above the law, &etc, are the foundation for what can be built.
Just like the foundational design of a house describes and defines the shape and form of the building so these principles indicate the shape and manifestation of the ideas and ideals that are what is the American Experiment.
One of the essential issues in human relationships, at every level, is the issue of power. Who has it. And why? On what authority? And for what purpose?
America was an answer to the question that was the political structures of the Old World.

When the claim is made that Trump, and now the Republican party, more properly the Trump party, is an anti-American force, this is the logic behind that claim.
It is not a claim that Democrats as a party are right in their political policies. Nor Republicans are “wrong”.

Like a Trump, the most failed man and worst president in our history, to rattle, perhaps dismantle, our constitutional form of government and declare himself victorious in contradiction to every fact and findIng at every level of our society? From the votes to the S Court?
It seems to me the question we are actually grappling with, beyond the obvious superficial one of Trump/Biden, is one of Constitution vs Authoritarian capricious rule.
