Now the state attorney’s arguing that Daphne’s family should be prevented from making closing submissions in the public inquiry into her assassination. It took two years of fighting the state to have the inquiry set up.

The board’s chair is now reading out a decree. The inquiry has heard some 100 witness over 12 months, save for when hearings were suspended during lockdown.

The board is suspending its hearings pending the presentation of data collected during police investigations. The data is expected to be available by mid-January. The inquiry will therefore continue into 2021. #DaphneCaruanaGalizia

Things we learned today:

1 The decision to call an early election was taken in February/March 2017. That's when Daphne had first mentioned 17 Black and remarked that it's the company the crooks in govt use to move money around.
