Sources : One Ramasubramaniam, an Advocate from Madurai has filed a PIL in the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court seeking a direction to TN DGP to register a criminal case against TN Advocate General Vijayanarayanan, TN Home Secretary SK.Prabakar IAS, 1/n
former law secretary Poovalingam, etc. under sections 193, 418, 409, 420 r/w 120-B and 34 of IPC.
The petitioner alleges that Vijayanarayanan and other members of Selection Committee for irregularities in the selection and appointment of law officers for 2/n
Madurai Bench and Principal Bench of the Madras High Court. The petitioner says, he had sent a complaint to the DGP on 11 November 2020 for registration of a case, but no action has been taken and seeks a direction from the court in this regard. 3/n
In his complaint, Ramasubramaniam lists out several instances of irregularities in the appointment of government advocates. One Vineet Subramani, who had earlier worked as a junior in Vijaynarayan office was appointed as Special Government Pleader (SGP) 4/n
when disciplinary proceedings were pending against him in the Bar Council. His appointment was challenged in WP 1771 of 2018. While the petition was pending, Vijayanarayan, in his capacity as Advocate General and Ex-Officio Chairman of Bar Council closed the 5/n
disciplinary proceedings against his junior Vineet Subramani. Similarly one Thanga Vadhana Pandian was appointed as Addl GP with pending disciplinary proceedings. Her case was also closed by Vijayanarayan. 6/n
Apart from this several advocates who had filed just one case in five years have also been appointed as Addl Government Pleaders when plenty of advocates with several years of experience have been ignored. 7/n
All these irregular appointments have been made for extraneous considerations says the petitioner.
TN Advocate General Vijayanarayan has been included as a respondent both in his personal capacity and in his official capacity. 8/n
Due to the complexities involved in this litigation, the Registry of Madurai Bench is not numbering the petition for more than a week, say sources. 9/9

Sources : The charge sheet filed by CBI in the #HathrasCase is filled with flaws and three innocents have been roped in as accused, in spite of them having strong alibis.
While the prime accused did commit the act and there is strong evidence against him, 1/n
the remaining three were implicated only based on their ‘tower location’ of their cell phones. Two of the accused who are implicated were employees of a dairy located a kilometre away from the scene of crime (SoC) and witnesses working in the dairy, 2/n
had given statements that the two accused were working in the dairy at the time of crime. The other innocent accused was present in a place away from SoC and witnesses had deposed that he too was not in the SoC.

DMK President MK Stalin mounts scathing attack on BJP. In the one day fast that is being held today at Valluvar Kottam, Stalin says, not only the farm laws, but, amendments to labour laws, environment laws, electricity related laws are all anti-people. Stalin says, 1/n
the BJP government is not working for the people, but for corporate companies. Stalin asks, while the farm laws which affects crores of farmers should have been debated in length in parliament, what is the hurry to pass it in such a hurry ? 2/n
Instead of holding talks with the farmers who are struggling in historic cold in Delhi, the BJP is trying to humiliate the #FarmersProtest by terming them, ‘Maoists’, ‘Terrorists’ and ‘Khalistanis’. The DMK and allies will back the farmers agitation with sustained energy, 3/n
Bengal CM Mamata Didi refuses to budge to the bullying of Amit Shah. She says, she will not transfer the 3 IPS officers whom the MHA has ordered for central deputation. 1/n
Sources : BJP presses it’s important wing, “Election Commission of India” into service for 2021 elections. Deputy Election Commissioner Umesh Sinha IAS, visits TN today. Umesh Sinha, a 1986 batch IAS officer, should have retired on 31 December 2019. 1/n
BJP government, gave him extension for one year till 31 December 2020. He is likely to get extension till 2021 elections are over.
Officers who get extensions beyond their superannuation are not officers, but lapdogs of the ruling regime. 2/n
Former TN DGP, Ramanujam is a classic example. Since MHA rules doesn’t allow extension of IPS officers, he was appointed as “Advisor” by Jayalalitha. Subsequently, he was made the Chief Information Commissioner. 3/n

The details were shocking. China, which has sensed the weakness of Modi is trying to infiltrate India. The recent tactic they are adopting is to recruit, Lankan Tamils, as they thought we Tamils are emotional and 2/n
weak with very soft corner for Lankan Tamils. It is true to an extent. We are of course emotional. This is both our strength and weakness.
China, which has almost brought Sri Lanka under it’s control, now wants to infiltrate and manipulate India. 3/n

Dr G Selvarajan, Additional Director of Medical Education, was due to retire on superannuation on 31.07.2019. 1/n
Dr.A.Edwin Joe, Director of Medical Education also retired on the same date. While Edwin Joe, an able administrator was not given extension, Dr G Selvarajan alone was given an extension of 5 months. 2/n
The reason stated for his extension was that being the Secretary for the Medical Admission Selection Committee, his retirement would upset the admission process.
The five months extension given to Dr Selvarajan, expired on 31.12.2019. 3/n
