WTF is O’Toole doing in Quebec? Trudeau is letting down France because the Canadian constitution allows for hate speech to be restricted?

What kind of fricking polarizing nonsense is that? Why is Canada obligated to uphold France’s interpretation of liberty and free speech?

It isn’t! Which is the whole point. How dare O’Toole suggest Canadians compromise the Charter’s freedom of expression to accommodate a French interpretation of free speech. Or rather, Freedom of Expression.

What a nincompoop statement! Pierre Trudeau brought us the Chartwr of Rights and Freedoms and was from Quebec. So how do you make the argument this is anti-Quebec interpretation?

You know what that’s called? Sedition.

Fanning the flames of secession in Quebec because many adhere to France’s interpretation of liberty, rather than the Canadian interpretation.

It’s no secret Quebec didn’t sign onto the Charter, yet is subject to the laws it upholds.

What are you attempting to do Mr. O’Toole? Break up Canada? Do we have a political leader that is fanning the flames of separatism?

Canada owes no allegiance to France’s interpretation of liberty.

Are you familiar with a gaffe by France’s president Charles De Gaulle? Quebec is a unique part of Canada, but they are not separate from Canada. Quebec has a different relationship to the constitution and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Thank goodness. Because that influence has pushed the rest of Canada to a more progressive agenda.

But France’s take on liberty isn’t one of those policies Canadians are comfortable adopting. We know all too well that hate speech must be contained.

If only to protect unique provinces like Quebec from hate speech by other anglophone Canadians.

You’re playing both ends against each other. Attempting to drive a wedge between different regions of Canada.

Canadians chose the freedom of expression with the exception of hate speech. There is no doubt you are attempting to revive separatist sentiment by appealing to Québécois who identify with France’s interpretation of liberty.

Stop it! Canada includes Quebec. By choice.

Stop acting like a seditious traitor to gain political points in Quebec. Even if we don’t all speak the language, that doesn’t mean we don’t embrace the differences in Quebec in Canada. In fact, that is what makes us Canadian. Our diversity is our strength.
